    Default 1991 Honda Accord Transmisson Problem

    I have an ex automatic. Just the other day it started but the car will not shift on its own to begin with. I can shift it manually but somedays i only have 1st and 3rd. Then other days it will have 2nd and 4th. I checked the tranny fluid and its fine. Does anyone know what this could be. Thank

    ehh...i'd be an extremist adn say teh tranny is toast..but i'd recommend a tranny service first

    I know it could be aleast $1000 to have someone fix it

    I'd bet that your odomoter and speedo don't work. If this is the case, it's the VSS - common prob on CB7s.

    Damn your good. The speedo hasnt work since i got it. It will work every now and again. Stupid question now. Whats the VSS and how hard is it to replace.

    pull a part FTW new tranny 57 dollars and u put in urself or pay me 200 and ill do it

    I'm more gooder than just good.

    Just get on the accord boards and buy a new/used Vehicle Speed Sensor

    speed sensor probably wont fix it but the trans computer will, it starts out in like 3rd gear and slipping real bad but you can manuelly shift it and it is fine.

    well i have in auto myself. does the S light pop up when you drive? same problem happened to me and my car wouldnt shift at all. you gotta replace the transmission module(think thats what its called its right next to your ecu). basic find at a junkyard for the cheap cheap. if thats not the prob then iono what is

    hey i've got a almost new vss and an tcm out of a 95 accord lx .. (i swapped mine for a manual) idk if it will fit a 91 though. pm if u need n e thing
