    Default Spicy down

so as i was pulling out of my subdivision today i hear this loud BLAM then a bunch of clanking. I look in my mirror, and i see stuff bouncing on the road behind me. Then i lost ps and that's when i knew i blew my motor

yeah, today hasn't started out good at all. I recovered a chunk of the block and part of the piston for your viewing pleasure. I'm gonna be updating this thread with more pics once i figure out how much damage has been done.

    *edit*
Pic one has holes 1 and 2
    Pic 2 has hole #3

I'll have a better pic of the third hole in the next couple of days once i get the turbo off

I've known other people to have their's blow up too, but never by sending the connectiong rod out the bottom like with what appears to have happened to mine. I'll know the extent of the damage once i get a new engine.

b18 + 5 speed conversion is coming sooner than I thought.

so it won't be auto too much longer.

Well i just figured out that that little piece that i though was part of the block isn't. It's the Main Bearing Support Plate that costs $350.

Well, i got the total today, and i'm looking at $6k in repairs. it's sucks, but i don't have much of a choice. I'm getting the transmission replaced too so that'll save me about $600, 3rd gear's back woot.

When you left the subdivision were you pedal to the metal, or something? Thats strange for something to just blow up like that.

I really wish i could say i was, but i wasn't. I had a real bad problem with hesitation at the mind range rpms that i had been trying to figure out. I think that had something to do with it. Also this was something that was bound to happen sooner or later. If you take a look at the pic with the bottom of the rod, you can see that it's warped. That couldn't have happened in just a few minutes.
