    Default Silivia headlights question

so i'm thinking about what i'm going to do when i have money to buy a car. I'm not wanting to do anything super special. just something rather fast and something i can do all myself, with some friend shelp ofcourse

so i wanna do a 95-98 240sx with the RB20DET/RB25DET motor and the front end conversion

question.... can the conversion be done on all 95-98 240sx?...

i notice the headlights and hood change between the 95 through 98... is that the difference in the s14/15 or what... sorry.... i dont have a large knowledge of nissans but any help would be great.

also, if the headlight conversion is a complete and utter waste of time and money. lemme know. like whats it cost how hard to do that stuff..... might just throw money into the motor instead.

i got a 95 240sx with a sr20det. i wouldnt go with a rb20det b/c its to old for a newer car get a sr20. the rb25det thats a good bite of money and i dont think u and a few buddys could do that swap b/c even u said your knowledge aint that large hit up eric from E&E motorsports he does RB swaps all day long. just my 2 cents

and yes the head lights are different its from 95-96 then 97-98. i got a S15 front end conv on my 240 from importfan it fit well. well if u know what your doing. here is a pic of my 240 with the s15 front end

95-96 Are zenkis and 97-98 are koukis.

The koukis have a more agressive front end and headlights and a kouki with a nice lip and grill looks better then an s15 front end IMO.

Yeah it does. Here's my kouki with a jdm grille, dspeed corners, and usdm motorsports lip. From Drift Mechanics a few years ago:

Oh and search. I mean there is a shitload of stuff out there about 240s now its just ignorant to post some question about 240s without searching.

its not so easy. i did search. most of what comes up is products or drifts site or sites about the 240sx car itself, not about info with the swap and headlights and everything. thanks for the links!

i was about $4000 deep in rb25 by the time i got it running, of course i did all the work and called in some mad favors for the clip and mounts. count on spend $6000 to do an rb25 s14 now and add another $1500+ for labor. i wouldnt put the rb20 in a 14, its like putting a redtop in there only it weighs an extra 178 lbs and its harder to get parts. as for converting a zenki to a kouki figure on spending between $2500 and $3000 for the parts. there are a shit ton of lies on the net about how everyone got all this shit real cheap. they might have been true 4 or 5 yrs ago, but thats not the case anymore. to get quality stuff your gonna have to shell out some cash.

thank you, this is what i was looking for,ive come across the same info on a few other sites... ive come to the conclusion to go the SR20DET if i should go the route of a 240sx at all, and i'm going to scrap the silvia conversion idea and would put extra money into fixing up suspension, brakes, etc...

no way dude the s15 lights would TOTALLY make your car faster! I'd set aside some money because you'll probably try to impress someone "drifting" (read: wannabe power-over in a parking lot and meet a curb) and end up wrecking your car... god... ricers taking over and destroying 1 240 at a time... sucks

Your an idiot. Those are covered extensively on every forum out there. For starters don't search for 240sx on google, go to a 240 forum and search their archives for zenki kouki swap, etc.

if you were to do an s15 conversion youd want to use an s15 core support, so thats another $280 plus shipping.

i'm asking for help. if you wanna be an asshole. go be an asshole and go not help someone else with. i'm open for critcism, but if your comments are going to read like a little kid with a " Everyone-with-a-mind-set-outside-of-me-is-wrong" type of attitude. then just dont try and impress people by your amazing use of sarcasm

besides.. why did you even say that after i said i'm probably not going to do it? is it a shame that i wanna put money into a car and make it fast and then make it look good as well? plus who the hell said drifting?... i think your the first one to mention that in this post. good job for pulling that out of your ass. Dont call me a ricer either.

I'm glad everyone else that has posted has been helpful in some way. your just being negative and thats no help at all, asshole.

that core is $280 shipped from courtesy nissan, i asked about it when i ordered my afpr.
who the hell are you to trash this guy? he didnt come here and ask some dick question about his steering wheel being messed up. theres a lot of misinformation about the conversions. were it my car i would rather spend the money on tires or power stuff, but its not my car. its assholes like you that keep the 240 community as splintered as it is, so back off.

the community? what community? half of the "community" are buncha kids that mindlessly follow whatever rice magazine they picked up that makes a living off the poor kids and make them think they're some street racing hotshot... i have nothing else to say regarding to this thread, good dya

you shouldnt have said anything in the first place. im willing to bet you fall into the other half of that group, the ones who like to pick on the "little ricer kids" for being popular and having a girlfriend. your not even aware of the community im talkin about and theres are reason for that. hopefully this will be the end of the jackassery.
