Default What could cause a sensor to do this???

Its the Intake air temp sensor for a D16Z6. I was sitting in traffic about a month and a half ago and my CEL came on. It was a code 10.

Just got around to replacing it because the motor I pulled out of a car a few weeks ago had one in it.
