idle at 2k-3k rpm wtf?

90 crx single over head cam zc motor 5 speed. Just changed out the head gasket now its idling at 2-3k rpm. What would possibly cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated and +repped

maybe a line or sensor got left off
just do a recheck

check your throttle cable and the gas pedal if its just a steady increase if not then you did something wrong on install then look for ur throttle body and see if its jammed

coolant temperature sensor, check if its plugged in all the way or if wire is hanging loose...

check the idle air control sensor. might be dirty, take off and clean with some throttle cleaner

If its steady,then probly need to adjust throttle cable.Or it could be IACV try this it fixed my car after it idled at 3k constantly

^^throttle cable adjustment, i had to adjust it on my hatch after doing the head gasket for the idle. check the vacuum lines if you have on on the manifold and throttle body.
