HIDs power use
It's for a motorcycle but I figured a lot of the car guys would know this.
Since I ride at night a ton and use my bike as a daily driver with deer and other small creatures (Both wild and domestic) attracted to me and my bike. I was thinking of getting some HIDs.
I'm on a 1996 CBR600 F3 with a GSXR750 R/R on it since my old R/R crapped out. Feels like it powers about the same if not a little better but I don't know since my old one was bad.
I've heard HIDs are brighter. I'm also not going for that super blue look. If it's bluer than white I don't care I just want high visibility for myself.
Now my questions is do HIDs take more power than normal bulbs or do they use less power? If less I'll get them for sure but if more I'll most likely have to bow out since I'm not sure if my old electrical system could keep up. Espeically in the winter when I have the heat grips going (FTW!!!).

It takes more power to power the Halogens then the HIDS...Hids also burn colder then Halogens....an they last 3x longer lmk I can get you a set

HIDs are suppose to be more effective in every manner when compared to halogen headlights.

Good to know. I have to get a new rear tire first but will have to start researching HIDs and finding the some good quality lights.

What kind of HIDs?
And what all do I need in a kit. Wich I plan to put the ballist(?) in the storage compartment in the back of my bike.
Also I heard some people say I can get a Ballist from BMWs, Nissans, etc from junk yards.
