CV Axles

How do you put the CV Axles back together? I tried pulling them from the transmission like I was told to do, but they came apart from the universal joint, I'm not sure if thats the correct term, the cv boot pop'd off and everything, and now I have no idea how to put them back together or if I even can. I apperciate whatever help is given.

Yeah thats what I prob. do, but just didn't know if maybe you could put them back together and save alittle money.

You can put them back together, just make sure that it all slides/glides in place if you decide to do this....

Also, i must warn you that for being cheap and rebuilding instead of replacing, you may hear your axles clicking,knocking, popping, or clunking/vibrating at highway speeds, and if you take tight turns. So if i were you, id buy new axles.

Why were you pulling them in the first place? Were they making some kind of noise? If not, make sure the slider rings are still on it and just slide it back in. Fill the boot full of grease and clamp the boot back on. As the others stated though, if you were trying to repair the axle or you heard a clicking or poping noise, go ahead and replace it.

na dude u read it all wrong. when he was pulling the axle out, the joint came apart bearing came out.

I was pulling them because, I'm swapping motor's and Their was nothing wrong with them before I tried to pull them out. No clicking/popping or anything and they look brand new, so I was just wondering if trying to put them back together was worth it. But I'm gonna just go ahead and buy some new one's

what side was it on driver or passenger.

Driver side. Cause I could get a pry bar on the passenger side good, so it pop'd out, but the driver side was hard to get to, so I pulled on it from the side of the fenderwell and it went pop. The boot and everything and the bearings fell on the ground, and I was like sh!t.

Yeah my bad, I should have been more detailed and made it clear that it was only the driver side, but i'm really tired....lol +1 for ya help
