    Default b16a2 cam cap help

    i have a 99 si b16a2 i am in the process in building it up na when i took the cam caps off i found some grooves in them so is the only option to replace them with oem ones

    like normal ware grooves or is it pitted type grooves.

    looks like normal ones...when you install the new cams, lube them up with either oil or assembly lube...<< I use assembly lube...an you have to install the cam caps in a certain order an tighten them in a seqence you know that right?

    i know about the sequence and that the have to go on the one they come off of, there actual grooves i thought the were supposed to be smooth

    like if u run your finger nail across them u can feel it. got any better, clearer or bigger pix

    like no mo says if you can feel them with your finger nail then yea thats not good..if your installing new cams you can just take a 2000 grit sand paper an smooth it out, an you will be ok

    Unless your head is scared up too...mine was on that same motor and i had to buy a new head... a machine shop can fix it but they told me if i was looking to do performance stuff i should buy a new head but my head was completely scared up...

    Yeah he might be fine now...but maybe later it might get F**ED up so just check em every oil change...

    yea i can feel em not all of them are that way the bottom feels fine just two of them the block was scared on number 2

    if it bothers you you can have it line bored or honed
