    Default 300ZX emissions questions...

This is for people that only know the Zs.. I know cars but not issues with Zs that could be casuing this.. I do know of EGR issues with it clogging. I just figured some of the Z1 guys where on here and could teach me a thing or two about these things.

To start things off I failed emissions... I used to be an inspector a long time ago and here are the numbers below. I am thinking plugs, wires, dizzy cap, injectors, or cat for the HC (HC = unburned fuel)

For the CO I was thinking O2, breathers, air filter (clean), PVC Valve, or vac leaks because the CO is air flow through the engine.

The NO (Nitric Oxide) that has to deal with Cats, O2, EGR, injectors, and cooling is the main things to look at when failing the NO because it has to do with when the engine is under load and is hot...

My point is that I am thinking I will since the NO passed I should take a look only at the plugs, wires, PVC, breathers, due to the things that have passed makes me think eliminate those things from the HC and CO and check the other things.

I don't know a damn thing about 300ZX's. I know emissions though and I know EXACTLY why you didn't pass. It has something to do with..... wait, since you want someone who knows specificly about these cars, maybe I should keep my 2 cents. Unless you want to change your statement.....

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

advance the timing some. You have enough play w/ NOx that it wont affect it too much.

I have nothing but bad things about doing this on the Z forum.. I know it is set 15 stock but 16 or 17 is fine if I have enough but I do not think I want to risk that...

I think it is just a connector that is doing it because I have replaced the CTS but it is still throwing the code even though it is new so I am going to go to pull a part to find a GM connector for the CTS because they will fit.
