Ive never ridden a bike before and want to get one. Im only 17 and i was thinking something small like a 600. How long will it take me to be able to ride? and not kill myself

you should get the feel of a motorcycle by riding dirtbikes, that how I learned to ride.

^^^ take notes from the fat ***** in the picture above.
go and take a motorcycle saftey course asap if you want to ride... they provide you bikes to ride and learn on, so instead of wrecking your $6000 bike, you wreck there pos and dont have to pay. just fyi
buy my bike.. before you get banned

Take MSF course, buy cheap used bike like GS500 or EX500. Buy good gear. Wear it, start slow. Stay alive.
thats the things about young kinds now. they get something and they want to get a big head on em and act like a bad-ass in front of their friends and do stupid ****.Originally Posted by David88vert
get a new ninja 250, those look sweet. When I was 17 i got a ninja 250 (not as cool of a bike then as it is now), and liked it. I got a bigger bike later, then sold it for a track bike and started racing. Start small and you will probably enjoy the sport more/ longer.
