    Default accord w/ low compression

i just bought a 1990 honda accord ex with 191,000 miles and i has like no compression but it will run and drive just has hardly and acceleration i was wondering where to start because i cheaked oil and there was no water so that rules out a few things but i dont know if its fixable or not but i found a motor for $600 at a junkyard but i was just going to make sure im not wasting my money if it is fixable

start by doing a compression test and a leak down test to pin point where the lose in compression is coming from. the odds are it would be cheaper to replace the motor. that is if your doing the work yourself.

well if have a lost of compression more than likely the person drove the hell out of it and never tuck care of it ... if you need a motor you can go on a wep site called
    www.car-parts.com
its a site that will find all the junks yards in the world u would type in your state and zip code and it will find a junk yard close to to u that has the part for the cheap price.
my f22a4 blew up and for one with low miles on cost 350 dollars but for a h22a1 cost me 850 dollars an the accord and the prelude is the same car engine an tranny wise every thing is a direct bolt up only thing you will need is a p13 ecu and a obd1 jumpers harness just because you have an obd 0 car and the h22 with the p13 is a obd1 but other than that every thing is the same ... good luck bro

Find an H22, AND throw out the old motor, Itll bolt right up.

P.S. Get the the h series tranny, the f series will make your car feel like crap due to long ass gears.
