Default ok bmw guys check this out!

so ive always been a bimmer fan but this is the first time ive owned one, i am active duty army and im on my first assn. in germany so of course i was looking for a bimmer, this one i got, i had my eye on for a month now, and i noticed it never moved at all,so i finally started asking about it and found out who owned it. The girl that owned it is going back to the states in 3 weeks so i ask her what she was going to do with it and she tells me shes gonna junk it because it wont pass the armys pov inspection, so i go though the car and find out that the only reason it wont pass is due to a leaky valve cover gaskit! so i go back to her and offer her money for the car and she tells me if you want it you can have it for free! so the car runs and looks great! and its pretty fast! so what im trying to figure out is the car has all the m3 badging, interior the whole nine yards, but the title just states that is a 1987 325i its says nothing about m series. is this normal? im wondering if its authentic or if someone has just made a clone. any hep with this would be great cause im new to this kind of car!

want to sell it? I have a friend looking for a car like that. It's a clone, but looks nice for what it is. How does it run. Auto or stick?

Engine pics? Is it a 4 cylinder 16v?
    There was never a e30 M3 4 door sedan.

    Well...

It is listed as an 87, but has late model bumpers.

Maybe overseas had late model bumpers before the U.S. did.

Also, those borbet staggered wheels would be worth quite a bit over here.

its not a 4cyl, its an inline 6 and i dont have any engine shots. The two pics shown here were taken with the webcam on my laptop because my camera is still in the states.

its not an M and its not a clone. Its just a 325 with a bunch of M stuff. If I were you I would pull off any M badges on the outside of the car and any unnecessary M badges in the car. Things like M floor mats are fine, but just having M's everywhere is ridiculous.

Great looking car though, Good Luck with it!

Can you give me the last 7 digits of the VIN? I'll tell you exactly what it is.

    In the US:
1984-87 have the diving board steel bumpers, '88 still had steel bumpers but were pushed in, and the '89-'91 had the painted plastic bumpers.

I'm not 100% positive on all the changes in the Euro e30, I know that's a colder climate euro front bumper because it only has one vent.

The rear end on your car is '89+ (larger taillights, thinner piece between the rear bumper and lights)...it could have been converted though.

The rocker panels and lower part of the rear valence are normally black so it's probably been painted.

Those euro smiley headlights are worth $300+ alone.

There is such thing as an e30 M-technic I and M-technic II versions, the Type I has the same wing as your car plus a few other "M" pieces (sideskirts) but I'm not positive they came in a sedan. I can tell you a little more about what it really is with the last 7 digits of the VIN...

Got your PM! It's a Euro 325i sedan built in September 1987.

The taillight situation is kinda interesting, 9/87 was the cutoff month for the smaller taillights in Europe. Some September '87 cars had small taillights while others had the larger ones...crazy that switch happened the exact month your car was built!

    Basically it's a '88 325i with a few M-Technic goodies someone has installed...and are those 16x9 Borbet T's?

I'll buy those wheels off of it. I've been searching for a pair of borbet T's for a while. lemme know if you ever want to sell them.

Good luck!! A TON of fabrication is required to make that happen...

(I would love to put that effort to an e34 with e30 M3 style flares)
