Default i miss my dubs.... :(

i bought an e46 back in jan for a DD and i am really starting to miss my dubs... i've been thinking alot lately about buying another. i have a c series and an e46 and i still prefer a vw/audi.

i'm considering maybe another 4dr maybe GTI or A3, and possibly a R32... if you were gonna buy a dub mk4 or mk5 and why?

mk4 gti or r32. The new ones are fugly. Styling wise the mk4 has soooo much potential. I will throw some pics in the car section later for inspiration.

Eh, I saw you said only MK4 and MK5 but I say go MK1 or MK2 lol. Otherwise just get an R32 or a 04ish GLI.

I say mk4 R32, there are a few around now and you can get parts easy. Plus I hate the mk5 R32 look. Oh there is a nice 2001.5 passat on craigslist right now, for 11900. It was the ABD Passat they they built up and had in Eurotuner. Just put on tonight. it could always used a bigger turbo

MkV Jetta TDI... or a MkIV of someone was giving it away.

About the only post 1992 VW's I'd consider.

But if you want to be in with the "VW scene", you'll need a MkIV 1.8t. And be prepared for it to spend more time in the shop than actually being driven.

Get a MK4 TDI and chip it. Then spend all your money on looks. Fuel efficient + jaw dropper = win.

    That's big, but absurdly expensive.

I don't think people realize how many R32's blow up in the process of being boosted. EIP tuning could never get their cars running right and blew motors and caught things on fire all the time. They were a really sketch company. So you can go HPA or a few other companies but expect to pay at least $10k just for the kit.

Not all turbo installs have to use a prepackaged "kit". Granted fab work is expensive sometimes but I assume a turbo setup can be complied for far less than $10k.

I've seen the black/green car out and about

Heres a good one I have wanted to do for a long time...

TDI + big turbo into a MkII. Some of the diesel guys are getting insane torque without much of a drop-off in fuel economy. And there are tons of IDI diesel MkII's out there, so you would already have the diesel tank and most of the gear you would need. Just swap in the newer TDI motor. Added bonus: no emissions Also, only a handfull of folks (by handful I mean maybe 5 or 6) have done this swap, unlike the vr6 or 1.8t swaps.

I have contemplated getting another GLI....great fun, great fuel econemy, and a beautiful car. An MKIV TDI also sounds good w/ chip, and all the crap I was reading about on clubTDI.com, there are a few videos on you tube of guys in TDIs walkin gassers...very impressive...and 40+ mpg. The only thing is how high will diesel fuel go, at $5 a gallon and gas at $3.00, its still a break even w/ 30-40% improved fuel economy....did I mention torque?!

hey chuck i bought a 323i e46... i wanted something with all of the power options, auto, etc... i have to drive 60 miles round trip a day to Atlanta and back so i wanted something comfortable to sit in that 45min-2hour drive i have one way each day. the car definitely does what i want nice comfy economical, but... i want a new toy. I'll probably buy a 3rd car instead of selling one of my other rides.

    Just buy my piece...

Id probably get an MKIV VR6 over an R32 and just boost that. Finding another 4dr 1.8T wont be easy as they didnt make a lot of those. How about an MKV Jetta w/ a Rabbit front end, saw one of those the other day, looked hot.

If you are going big, id get an MKIV VR6T.

Yeah I was going to part with it but have decided to go ahead and make it the next project. I figure I will take my time and in about 4 years my daughter will have a hotz ass VW to bolt around in. I am thinking pink like the Matworks VW Beetle.

BTW I go to woodward to skate 2-3 times a week unless I am slammed at work.
