First things first
1) Make sure your oil pressure sending unit isnt bad.
2) Get a mechanical gauge, and hook it up to the oil pressure sending unit an see how much oil pressure you have, you should have around 10-20psi at WARM Idel
Or, if you want just reaplce the $100 oil pump for insurance, if the light still comes on, at least you have piece of mind

When the oil light comes on,its becasue the motor went below i think 10 psi of oil pressure, that aint good for the motor!! hope it works out for u
oil light is less than 5psi of pressure.
as long as there is no load on the engine, it really want do any damage.
if you do have low oil pressure an you drive the car around, it will cause the damage danny is talking about

also if the oil sender is bad...it will not hit vtec...so that is why you dont feel power, check the sender out also....hate you do all that work an sender is bad.....
only thing different is the new one b16a2 has a crank sensor where yours doesnt...
the type r oil pump is the same part number as the B16 B18c1 oil pump. You just pay more getting it from ACURA.Originally Posted by JoshuaASE
