    Default getting door keys

    i have a car with shaved door handles. if i get some new doors with handles, how do i go about getting a key to unlock those handles??

    you need the vin# off the car that you are getting the handles from..... Then get a key cut from that vin. Just make sure that you get something from the junk yard that states the car is totalled and you purchased the door handles and need key for them. Try to get them all from the same car, wouldn't hurt to get the ignition too.

    You can also get a locksmith to make you a key from the tumblers but it is more expensive than going to the dealer with the vin, but if the car is older than 10 years most likely they won't be able to cut you a key. Here is the number of a locksmith that will do it for $65, 678-557-0391 (Atlanta's Mobile Locksmith).

    Honda in Savannah cuts keys by vin # for 5 dollars.

    savannah is about 329843 miles away from me haha, but that is an awesome price fosho, i'll try the stealership up by my house
