    Default 240sx timing chain noise. ????

    ok i changed the timing chain on a 240sx. and now the timing chain ratteling, i also didnt put the upper timming chain guide, do you think that could be the reason why its making that noise?

    did you replace the guides on the side, and the tensioner?

    yeah most the time its best to replace the chain and guides the new chain is tighter then the old one cause it hasnt strretched much yet so may be tight on old guides but yeah id replace those its save u the trouble later

    in fact you dont even need the upper and side timing chain guides. Im pretty sure Nissan even removed them from the s14 ka24's.

    Ive been running without the upper and side guide for about 6 months now, no more rattle and its all fine.

    Ya they are right... you dont need those two guides... I just got a performance timing chain kit and i hear no rattle and its fine... but i still have the guides in but my old setup didnt

    hmm. ok arnt the guides there to quiten the noise? it stops it from shaking and that quitens the noise... i think but im not sure??
