    Question 240sx battery cable got on fire.

    ok i was driving around on a 240sx and for some reason it started to overheat... so i stopped opened the hood and on the battery cable there are two plugs and one of them got really hot and started to melt, almost cought on fire. what could be the problem? thanks

    you most likely had the system arc somehow.

    its when the electrons essentially jump out of the wires through the air, onto another electricity conducting surface....its pretty much what you see whenever you see the blue, white or purple 'jolts' of electricity.
    It can be extremely dangerous sometimes.....it does tend to create fires...

    lol i was just glancing in the tech section and like the only nissan threads i've seen are all about ur 240, running rich, timing chain noise, catching on fire.....lol man...ur car doesn't like u >_<

    electrical problem?? Never heard of this problem b4.
    Go to zilvia.net or 240.org and ask those experts over there.

    cover your positive terminal with electrical tape.
