all im wanting to know is what will be required for the build,, i seen an h23 block for sale thought about buying it and building it up with a h22 vtec head but i dont know if i would have to treat it lik an ls/vtec.

i have a complete h22 head for sale if you're interested... but h23vtec is not like an ls\vtec....

h23vtec you need, h22 head, h22 head gasket, h22 water pump, h22 timing gear that goes on the crank, remove the oil orifice on the h23 block, and you need the h22 water neck pipe. no need to drill and tap the head and block..... everything is plumbed already.. the h22 and h23 block is the same block except the h23 does not have oil squirters installed, and of course the H23A1 engraving

are you asking about a build or a swap? if its a swap, its like dropping a b-series into a civic but requires custom mounts and cutting the shifter tunnel to fit the h22 shifter assembly. unless you want to do the h2b then that's another story.

Could you Pm me links, right now im rockin stock 95 teg, with an auto tranny... which BLOWS!!! i got a friend up north that will give me every thing needed to Ls/Vtec on it, along with a gsr 5speed. for damn near free. but i did reading on the Ls/Vtec and its hella work. not saying im lazy, but i'v never build a motor befor. i'v replaced the cluth in my old Rx7, about a bazillion times. and done fuild changes but never build a motor. so i thought since i got this teg. ill rock ls, and build me a h22 and swap it in. It's a go big or go the hell home kidna thing for me, One swap i dont wanna work my way up, from motor to motor. but i will work my way up on the HP, and whats teh H2B, some kinda custome fab for a B tranny? once again Pm me the link or post them, yes, this is my first honda... that im moding, but alot of my friends have been doin this along time.

as far as simplicity goes, the LS/VTEC conversion is a lot easier than doing a H22A swap. The only hard part is drilling and tapping the block. Its really not a big deal though. If you plan on swapping in a H22A, you will have to do a lot of stuff. Also its a pain in the ass to keep A/C and P/S with the H22A. It can be done, its just not easy.

some one told me that once i go H22, that i cant go back to B. that i have to cut and reweld mounts... i mean i dont really care, but he keeps killin me to just LS/vtec it and boost it.... but, i remember cheese frog from like 02 03, and he had an H22 boosted hatch, and it was a BEAST!!!!
