Default Shock Absorbers VS Strut Assembly

What are the major diffrences between Shock Absorvers VS The Struts?

For example what are the diffrences in the following two products?

First link are to strut inserts, and second are to shock absorbers.

Now for example lets say I wanted to make my civic less stiff and more cussioned, for a softer ride, ever when lowered 2in

what should I do, is it a matter of difference between shocks and struts?

I would suppose the AGX are adjustable shocks made for racing purposes or just cruising.
Like choosing the harder or softer your shocks are.

And the GR-2's are made for a smoother ride but also good handling.

I don't really know, its just a guess.

You never know what a little research around the internet can do.
The difference between the two products is one is adjustable and one is not.
You cannot have your integra lower two inches and still has the same comfort as your stock ones. That is because of the spring rate has increase. And if your car is lower and the shock is soft, your tire will ht the suspension/inside of your car, which is dangerous.
It is just a matter of what you can stand. I personally cannot stand coilover system on street. Just too stiff for me. However, many people find coilover street-able.

by name, struts are on the front of the car because they pivot as you turn the wheels left or right, shocks don't pivot they just keep the springs from rebounding too fast. struts on the front, shocks on the back.

shock absorbers are what the name says. struts are a "type" of shocks that are used on macpherson strut suspensions with the functional difference being that they not only act as shock absorbers, they also serve as load bearing units in addition to shock absorbing functions. Now, I don't know why they insist on calling THAT a strut, since if I recall correctly, the integra doesn't use a mac strut set up in the front (I could be wrong).

struts can be on the front or back, though are almost always on the front because they are more space efficient. older hondas/acuras have double wishbone in the front, you'd call them shocks, not struts.
