    Default 1g skipping time

Sounds cooler than it really is...

Got a friend with the early model 1g tsi AWD... The time keeps skipping and warping valves. A guy he knows said Mitsu had a recall on whatever it was that made 'em skip.

Does anyone have a clue? I've searched and Goodle'd, but came up with nothing...

There was no recall on whats making it skip time.

When you do a timing belt job replace the tensioner, use an OEM Mitsu belt or Greddy/Toda/PE and ditch the balance shaft with OEM Mirage turbo parts or get a eliminator kit from a reputable DSM shop.

    Try those.

Sounds like a tensioner issue, do a timing change and you should be ok. Also you may want to check the head out. Don't recommend doing a balance shaft elimination kit unless you plan on getting the bottom end balance. Use only OEM parts, change all tensioners, belts. Good time to replace the water pump.
