    Default Freeze plug/bolt??

Okay, so I just took apart the head of my motor because it was running hot, found out the head was warped and had it milled down. I took out the freeze plug to drain the water from the water jackets in the block. Is it reusable?? Or is it like a stretch bolt type deal??? Also, do I need to put water back directly in the block or just fill up the radiator and wait till the thermostat opens and lets it in the block then fill it up again???
