    Default fogged headlights

    I have 800 grit sand paper.. will that be safe to use when wetsanding my headlights?

    try something finer like 1500. 800 will leave sand scratches unless you buff like crazy.

    If you have extreme yellowing then starting off with 800 grit would work best.

    I did this once on S14 headlights. Started out with 800, then hit it with 1500, and finished it with 2000 grit. After that I used this stuff called PlasticX I got at autozone, a plastic polishing compound. Worked great and the headlights looked brand new.

    WAIT!!!
    Autozone sells some special pads that you put on your drill that has some type of chemical reaction when you mix it with water. They did a good ass job when I used them and you get about 5 for $10.

    I just scuffed up the outside of the headlight cover with the 800 then 1500 and used a terry cloth and polishing compound and made it look much better

    still not done.. didnt want to mess it up so i only did a small portion.

    I do this on other people's cars all the time I just wanted a second opinion. and all I had at the time when I made this thread was 800.

    I only did 1 headlight haha.
