Horsepower looks good on paper, Torque wins races.
all that will do is advance your timing. Advancing it may make it feel a little faster in the lower RPMs, but your feel slower in the higher RPM's. Moving the distributor forward will retard the timing, and have the adverse effect. I would just get a timing light, and set it to factory specs. If you haven't had a tune up in a while do one.
Check to make sure there are no metal flakes in your vtec solenoid.
