is300 trans swap?

Im totally new to toyota/lexus car so forgive me if i sound stupid. But i was wondering if it was possible to do a auto to manual swap for a 1st gen lexus is300? Im asking because it might be too advanced (lot of computer work involved) or way too costly for a tranmission swap.

yes it is possible. but kinda expensive. i have a manual is300 right now. im doing the v160 swap in it by christmas. what tranny are u goin to use.

yea it is but its worth it if ur goin to push over 400whp. u can find a used one with low milage for about 3,200. and thn everything u will need to do it with is about 2,000. it will be more though since ur goin from automatic. and if u dont want to spend as much then go with the r154 5 speed. it can hold alot but it has really long gearing.

i'd rather have long gearing than have 1st and 2nd completely worthless... do you have an IS? already turbo?

We put a r154 in my 01 IS (automatic) at Batlground and I love it everything cost around $3,500. It is completely worth it in my opinion. It is not to bad of a swap and will easily hold 600whp.
