when you push the clutch in, check to see if the release fork is moving. if its not , bleed the system and adjust the pedal

"i just got a transmission swap done" ...and now you're asking a forum for advice? Why not take it back to who did the swap before having to deal with it yourself?

why do you have to be so rude about it?
he was asking the question in the general tech section. who knows it could be a simple fix that people on here have had experience with.
after all isn't that what this section is made for, general tech?

Who's being rude? But I can be. It only seems logical doesn't? Obviously he didn't do the swap himself because he said, "just got a transmission swap done"...so why on earth does he have to FIX something that is a direct result of what they have already done???

like i said, the man came on here to ask for some help, it could be an easy fix so he doesn't have to tow his car all the way back to the ppl and have it at their shop or whatever for a longer period of time. it could be easy as bleeding it! and as stated before this is the general tech section, this is what its made for.

There's too many speculations going on but i say make who did it responsible, you always want to inform them if there is an issue...

obviously for the regular or weekend car mechanic the problem could be diagnosed and easily resolved but if anything else serious was to happen and you had to take it back or the shop or whoever did it then it becomes an issue because they weren't originally informed of it.

BUT again, it's all speculation...he could of had a friend do the major stuff letting him finish it.

I say take it back to the shop that fucked it up.

    It's their problem, not yours.

ok everyone i cant hold the shop responsible because i did the clutch fly and tranny install at my shop they did the rest of the swap. if im not mistaken i think when i put the tranny in the pilot bearing came off the fork and got jammed so the clutch will not engage. the fork moves when you push the pedal down everything works just the clutch will not grab it thinks its in neutral so something is holding the clutch open. so if there are any other ideas please let me know.

ah ha, now it makes sense. Did you use a clutch alignment tool/spare main shaft to get the clutch back on?

yes i did use a alignment tool when i put the clutch kit in and it was all perfectly aligned just when i was putting the tranny in it was being a bitch and i had to knock it around a bit and in the process i think the pilot bearing came off the fork. thats a big i think. its either that or i didnt torque the presure plate down enough. if this sounds about right let me know.

pilot bearing is in the flywheel, and if its a prelude its a bushing. Throw out bearing is on the fork.
