    Default thinking about owning a 1.8t

    im currently looking at an 01 gti 1.8t with 80k fully loaded

    1st question is 14k about right?

    2nd what path should i go for mods? worry about boost ect.. first or should i drop a good amount of money in bolt on's ect.. before i do anything to serious

    I think 14k is too much. I have an 01 GTI 1.8T fully loaded with 50k miles and I am selling it for $12k.

    I would work with bolt ons for a while if I were you. Turbo back exhaust, diverter valve, cold air intake, turbo inlet pipe, and an ECU would give you a bit more horsepower. And maybe when the stock turbo gives out you can do a turbo upgrade.

    dude i sold my 01 4dr w/ 55k for under 12k and it was pretty heavily modded.

    Id say that was a hell of a deal for the highest power stock turbo 1.8t that ive heard of

    just for reference i've seen beetle 1.8t go for as low as 5k (thats the cheapest way to get into a 1.8t)
