    Default Goodbye Jetta Hello 9-3

So as a few of ya know I had a 2 door jetta VR6 project that had just got finished and then due to a fucking electrical fire its all gone and now Im parting out what I could salvage.

Well since that was my daily I was forced to go out and get a new car and what did i find?

2001 Saab 9-3 2.0T HOT 2dr 5spd silver with 70K on the engine turbo replaced under warranty at 60K and still under warranty till 100K

The car is great, its got lots of pick up and it looks hot. Plus its not something everyone has out there and will suprise alot of people once Im finished with it.

The plan is slam it on a nice set of coilovers this summer then comes time for XMas and Im going Nordic Stage 3+ which should put me at the power range im looking for then call it a day.

I will take some pics later and post them up

Anyone else on here drive Saabs

    Lee

lol, a co-worker sold his '02 jetta 1.8T for a Saab 9-5 Aero wagon...BBS RK wheels, heated front & rear seats, vented front seats, etc. The first week he had it he got the HID housing and lights...I'll shoot it pretty soon and post it up.

Sorry Lee, reading owns me. Sounds good, in the words of the bosnians you should get some veels.

I am happy with running my sub off the stock head unit, I am sure your system will sound fine. I imagine Saabs are pretty well insulated but with the sub you are running I think rattles are inevitable.

I dont think i will have too much of a problem with vibrations, the car sounds aboslutly solid as hell. Plus if i got my old 92 Eldorado to not rattle I can get this thing to be quiet.

As far as wheels Im kinda liking the TriSpoke 16s. they will look better once the car is lowered but I have been seeing these really badass 18" Viggin wheels that would make it look super hot. I figure Ill stick with some kinda stock wheel as it will be cheaper plus the bolt pattern on saabs is funky anyways at like 5X112 or something.

My uncle has a 9-5 Aero...it's tons of fun. It looks nice, it moves, haha...it has a shift light too. It's a nice, unconventional choice. The only thing I don't like is the interior. It's comfortable, but I don't like the dash layout. It looks cheap to me.

    Aside from that...cool stuff.

Nah 5x100 is the Mk4 pattern. I think the Mk5 has something strange like 5x112.

Yea I kinda felt that way about the dash layout as well. Im thinking about swapping out the interior trim pieces for something else to see if that might help. maybe like brushed aluminum look or Carbon Fiber since the interior is dark grey.

I think brushed aluminium would look great. I personally don't like carbon fiber trim.

The Passats have the 5x112 bolt patterns. You have a whole lot of choices in that bolt pattern, alot of benz have that same bolt pattern too
