    Question B18B/B20A...also

Need to know if B18B eng. will bolt-up to a B20A 5-speed tranny and, if so, what computer changes, etc..., will be necessary to put this set-up in my '91 'teg GS(which currently has the stock B18A eng./tranny). Also, would like to know what other eng./trans. will fit in my car w/out serious mods to eng. bay (performance minded, of course). Any and all help will be greatly 'preciated. new to tuner world, but aspiring to be....

It will bolt up. The only thing to look at is if it's a hydro or cable tranny.

As long as you're going with a manual setup, no computer changes are made.

If you do the engine/tranny swap, that's a different story. Being a 91 teg, it's OBD0 computer system. If you go B18B, I think it's OBD1. So you have to choose if you want your car/setup to be OBD1 or OBD0. Fill me in and I can help more.

It will NOT bolt up. B20A is from a Prelude and has nothing to do with any other "B-series" engines.

B-series engines that will bolt in:
    B16
    B17
    B18A/B18B
    B18C
    B20B/B20Z (from Honda CR-V)

Any transmission from one of those engines will work, but you will need a conversion kit to use it if it is a hydro tranny (your car comes stock with a cable tranny).

B20B/Z is completely different from B20A. B20A is not the "B20" that will swap into a Civic or Integra it is more closely related to the F-series engines. He was wanting to know if a tranny from a Prelude B20A engine would work on his B18B Integra engine and it will not. I have a B20Z engine in my 1992 Integra with my stock transmission, but that is completely different from what he was wanting to do.
