A/C problem / 96' Civic

I replaced the a/c compressor for my car yesterday thinking that it was the root to all my a/c problems. Then after the whole ordeal and a fresh freon refill i find out that my a/c STILL does not work. What do I do next? Anybody have an idea of what is wrong!? Thanks.

Urh...I didn't vacuum the system. I actually have absolutely no idea what that means. Care to elaborate? All I know is, my old a/c compressor was seized up and the pulley didn't turn. After finding that out, I replaced it with another one I bought. What is the problem!? It's summer already and I still have no A/C!! HELP!!!

well the freon reacts to oxygen so when you replace a part from the ac system you supposed to vacuum the system due to the fact that if you don't the receiver dyer outlet freeze and don't let the freon circulate so vacuum the system and refill and then you let us know what happen

I wish I would have a compressor then I could probably vacuum the system for you, where you located there is this place on clairmont rd that can do it

if ur condensor blew and u just replaced the compressor...then you run the risk of little metal chunks getting into the new compressor and blowing that one too. and it definately needs to be vacumed and have oil added and a new reciever drier. pm me for a really good shop if ur close to lawrenceville

I can do it at my house, i have freon, and oil, Do you want FR-12, R-12, R-134A, or 416. I have R-134A, and R-12 on hand. LMK, we can work out a price

lol i hope you don't put r134 in an r12 system......^

first things first, let a professional put a receiver dryer on, vacuum down your system, then recharge it to the proper specs. from there we can determine if your triple pressure switch, or expansion valve, etc is doing what it's supposed to. i also really hope you have the right amount of pag oil in your compressor......

He couldnt put r 12 in r134 without something being changed already. Not like it really matters, you need to replace your accumulator or reciver/drier and orifice tube to prevent damage to the new comp. Most people also forget to read the big orange tag that tells you to add oil before installing.
