All I can say is dont do it...lol...9/10 swaps attempted never run.
No Homo.

They had KA24's at one time transversely mounted but i'm pretty sure never a VG30DE. Didn't they go from the 2.4L to a 3.5?Originally Posted by §treet_§peed
you idiots. Older Altimas had a KA24DE. Maximas had VG30E and later/newer altimas had the VQ35. J30 had a VG30DE.
VG30ET>VG30DETT as far as maintenance.

The older Z31 VG30ET was pretty easy to work on. That in a 240 would probably be pretty good as i have seen those motors make 300-400hp on stock internals and 500+ on a built car. You can stroke it to a 3.3L too... thats a nasty motorOriginally Posted by NSCredondo

Ahhh, but there was a VG30DE in the Maxima.....

Excuse me, the Maxima DID have a 3.0L with a dual cam head....
The VE engine is a 3.0 L V6 piston engine from Nissan. It is based on the Nissan VG engine and was only used for the '92, '93, and '94 model years. This engine has an iron block, aluminum cylinder heads with 4 valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshafts, variable valve timing on the intake camshafts, coil on plug ignition, and an available variable intake manifold. (5spd only)
A major difference between the VE30DE and the VG30DE engine is the heads. The low underhood clearance on the 1992–1994 Maxima demanded a special head to be developed with 30°, rather than 46°, between the valves. Lack of space also demanded a redesigned camshaft drive system, so a special chain drive was developed. The engine is otherwise similar to the VG30DE.
The 3.0 L (2960 cc) VE30DE produces 190 hp (142 kW) at 5600rpm and 190 ft.lbf (258 Nm) at 4000rpm. This engine redlines at 6500rpm. It was built from July, 1991 through March, 1994.
It is used in the following vehicle:
* 1992-1994 Nissan Maxima SE

Doesn't matter if it was a quad cam, rotary, or a radial....it didn't have a VG30DE, it was a VG30E & VE30DEOriginally Posted by DropTopDrifter

oohhh.. the block was the same, just had different heads

4 Valves per cylinder
Variable timing control

Iron Direct Ignition 1992-1994
Maxima SE
190/190 Similar block to VG series.
A lame duck engine, at least in the States.
Used only for three years in the Maxima SE.
Variable intake runners and (problematic but fixed in 94).
variable timing control.
