got ya,and yea their all 5 speeds and they dont run at all,and he does have a non runing GXL but last time i checked on it,he hadnt got the title on it,so i post it all up 2morrow..

well for one thing,their is no s5 GXls...theirs just base,vert and turbo...and its exactly the same engine

There are a lot more differences from S4 to S5 than the tails.

lol...I may be wrong, but I am thinking that AFM, wiring harnesses, "Motor" & such differ between S4 & S5. May be wrong though .

S4 and S5 motors are completely different for the record.

In 89 and 90 there were GXL's... In 91 there were only the 3 models (vert, turbo, coupe). Before that there was also the GTU model and the GTUs.

To clarify which parts he listed would work from an S4 on a S5:

Alternator - will work, but actually has a lower amperage output.

AFM - Will not work, not even the same design.

Intake stuff - Almost everything on the intake including the intake itself was completely different.

Tranny crossmember - S5's had a different tranny crossmember.

Motor Mounts - are the same...

Didnt really wanna resurrect an old thread, but thought the information could be helpful to anyone else. Most parts are not interchangeable between the S4 and S5 models.

you need the s5 foam bumper support (theoretically), but yes it will fit without modification. The moulding on it is different though, and also painted to match the bumper.
