Default 97 delsol check light prob.

wus up everyone my friend has a 97 del sol si he is havin a problem with the o2 sensors and needs to pass emissions.the old oem exhaust manifold was cracked in alot of places and he was having a hard time finding another oem manifold and cat under 200 with out instalation included so he jus bought aftermarker headers and downpipe and an universal legit catalytic convertor.in order to install it the o2 sensors had to be extended and shops were tellin me a lot of diferent things like if u extend the sensor the light will come on and that the sensor must be behind the cat or it wont work either.but ive heard of plenty of people doin this with no prob is this true or does it matter at all?can some one help us out with this ive searched but ive only gotten bits and pieces but not enough to figure this out.

if you extend the o2 you should be ok as long as it's done correctly. a lot of times you just have to release the wires from tie downs and they can be long enough unless the original header had the cat attached in the engine compartment instead of underneath the car. you will have to have the primary at the end of the header just before the cat the the secondary just after the cat for your best chances at passing w/ obd2, no active cel, and in readiness (if you disconnect ecu or battery you will need to drive it approx 75-100 miles to achieve readiness).

with what you have you should be ok as long as it's done right.
