Busted radiator hose = coolant on your belts = squeaking.
It's not that hard to grasp, is it?
Save your whining for when your motor blows some HEAVY smoke.
Then you'll have something to worry about.

LS motors are the best thing for RX-7s.

    If I wouldn't have gotten a Z06, I would've bought an RX-7 and had an LS7 put in.

A german invention that was sold to the Japanese.
Usually the Japs are known to perfect an invention.
We're still waiting on a GOOD, RELIABLE (when modified) rotary engine, and they've had it for more than 35 years now.

Rotaries, Kias, Hyundais, and even the Chrysler K cars are all great if treated right.

What you busted was either the AST or a coolant hose. What do you expect from a car built in 1993? If you had a 93 Vette or Camaro, with that many kmiles, it would need new hoses also. If you broke a hose on a LS swap, you would be having to replace it also.

I know of 1, that's right 1, correctly running LS setup in an FD here in Atlanta. It is all stock. I can beat him with my stock 1.3 on RA.

Maintenence on a rotary is no more expensive than on a V8. It's the same basic stuff. It's not really very different.

Yea, the fact that it's an older car, plus I'm sure they get driven pretty hard by their owners, lol I know I would.

Here we go.... I love RX7 stories.. I'm thiking this wont be the last. Lucky you is something simple this time.

Good luck with it... they are bad ass cars though when in good running condition.

I had a heater hose go a while back. It's not the rotary's fault. Just old hoses.

my roomate let his rx7 go into the red once.....

that was 5 years ago, i dunno why he is keeping it, i think its apparent he may never fix it..... It just sits there and i role it out everytime i need to do major work on my mx3, i do feel sorry for it cause i'm sure it cries every time its seen me doing a motor swap

Good thing it wasn't anything too serious.

This kind of stuff makes me nervous to get a FD. I'll probably just go with a MS3 or MS6 (probably the latter).

Check the vacuum line going to the map sensor (mounted on the firewall). Most people tend to tap the boost guage vac line into that one. You might have popped it off, and could have a vacuum leak.

It doesn't matter if a car has pistons or rotors - if you overheat it, that is bad and can severly damage any engine.
