whats wrong with your y8? if its just the bottom end knocking you could swap heads and everything would be the same.

actually its the head. some valves were bent. the block is still good, but i was thinkin of just gettin another motor put in becuz it has high mileage. so i could bolt on a y7 head and it would work? im not familiar with y7 engines, thats why im askin. he only wants 500 for the whole motor. what would u recommend i do?

ah just swap in the whole y7 then. it should run but will throw a CEL for spool valve and vtec oil pressure sensor cuz the y7 is non vtec. if it bent valves they most likely made contact with the pistons and they are probably damaged as well.

get the ecu w/ it and you'll have to run a wire for the 3 wire iacv unless your y8 is an auto. the ecu and wiring will keep you from throwing any codes and enabling you to pass emissions.
