Default FS/PT:1951 Pacakard 200 Straight 8.. Real Head turner!!! Must See!!!

Well I am up in the air. I was restoring this 1951 Packard for my grandfather since he gave it to me. He continually insists that I don't need to. The car is pretty awesome and needs very little to be 100% road worhty. It is driveable and runs fine. The brake cylinders need to be rebuilt. Which is fairly inexpensive. You can get the parts for less than $150 for new shoes and everything. It also needs to have the steering box looked at and the steering components. It has excessive play and doesnt steer properly. I am sure it needs several bushing replaced. These too are not overly expensive. I have started looking for these for sale. I have seen them listed anywhere from $55,000 to $9500 depending on condition. The one I found for $9500 sold in less than 48 hours lol.. It didnt run and had rust in a lot of areas. The one for $55K was mint low mileage restored paint and interior. Also converted to a 12V system. Pretty sweet car. It sold too. The 400 series Patricians are going for higher dollars than the 200's.

This 1951 Packard is a 200 series iirc. It has the Straight 8 cylinder engine and has been rebuilt at one point in time. It cranks up and idles good. My grandfather rewired it and is wired correctly, but he was not able to clean it up the way it should be. It is the Ultramatic automatic trans and it shifts good. With any 60 year old car this one is not perfect. The lock cylinder on the driver's door does not lock. It has a slight tick come from the dipstick tube on excelleration. It needs the brakes and steering components looked at. Has spot of body damage on the passenger side rear panel on a body line. It is not a serious thing imho but you can be the judge. The interior is a little dirty but still working on the cleaning of it. Overall the car turns heads!!!! It is pretty sick. I'm just a VW guy! I may not even go through with this and I will admit I don't truly know what this car is worth!!! From what I have seen I would say it is worth at least $13-16K. This is just judging on what I have seen. There are only two 1951 Packards I found for sale in the past week. There is a 2 door that seems to be in similar condition and is a 200 series as well listed for $18,500 for a quote.. "quick sale".. The other is a 400 series Patrician listed for $25,500. http://www.oldride.com/classic_cars/packard.html .. Another one I just found listed for $55,000 not the same one before.. Mine is in similar condition.. Once again I highly doubt the car is worth any bit of $55K I am just showing lol.. There have been 2 Packards on ebay that both got to around $9K but reserves were not met. I once again think my car is easily worth what I had in mind after looking at comparibles.

I am asking $12K OBO for this one as it is mostly original and is rust free. Only trades considered would be for a Euro car and more than likely cash on your end unless it is worth at least $12K

If seriously interested please call or text 865-805-0808

Here are a few crappy cell phone pics.

Dont take this the wrong way, but if it were my grandfather's I would try to keep that gem! I'm very sentimental though, kept a vehicle of my grandfather's for 12 years before selling it with approx 300,000 miles, it was just a Geo Tracker! lol

Beautiful car you got there, glws

I wont take it the wrong way, but my grandfather even motivated me to sell the car. Sentimental value is one thing but continuing my education to create a better life for myself and family is much more important than a car not being used in my driveway. I have lowered my price to $8750 for a quick sale!!!!
