    I run a pawn shop.. I sell these same ones and they pull 400$ plus shipping on ebay ALL DAY LONG 350 is a great deal.. no tax, no shipping

    guys, i bought this system from him yesterday and straight out of the box it wouldnt play bluray, dvd, or ps3 games. ive been trying to get in contact with him but he has stopped responding to my calls............

    i want to give him benefit of the doubt. hopefully he didnt just rip me off

    For that price I would have a sony represenative on hand to test it. Something had to be up with it.

    Send it where to get it fix? Sony? According the Sony Warranty from their website, you have to have an original receipt with purchase date to get their repair service. Look like he is screwed! Hope that he has learned his lesson.

    the ps3's have a manufacture date on the back.. they should take care of it.. although he probably already called in... I am SOOO glad i didnt buy his civic shell. sounds like a shady guy if this is true

    The warranty covers from the date of purchase, not manufacture date. Not trying to argue here, just stating the facts. That is why you see a lot people on ebay sell their ps3 with receipt included for warranty purpose. http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/PS3/Warranties

    i called sony and im sending it in today. my friend let me use his receipt so im all good. just got to wait for a few weeks. anyway, happy ending because i got a ps3 for 350. but still, this guy is no good y'all

    But wouldn't the serial number be different as shown on the receipt? Whenever I had to sell any game consoles, I had to scan the serial number...

    i realize that... however.. the 80 gig hasnt been sold long... say if it was bought in october last year.. and the manufacturer date is sept 08.. obviously its under a year old if it has a receipt or not

    I know it is under a year, but you have to meet both requirements to get their repair service. Under 1 year alone is not good enough, you got to have a valid receipt as well. Good luck to the guy who bought the PS3! Hope everything will turn out well for you! It is an awesome system.
