2002 Ford Escape Runs/Drives Great.
Up for sale Is a a 2002 Ford Escape With 144XXX miles. I received the vehicle as part of a trade. Overall the escape is in good condition with only some minor flaws that need to be addressed.
This is a XLT model which is what Ford termed the Luxury package. It has the 3.0L Duratech V6 with seems to pull strong and has had a recent oil change. It also has a 4 speed Auto trans with over drive.
The XLT package comes with Power Moon roof, 16" Wheels, Fog lamps, Power Windows/lock/mirrors, Leather interior, power drivers seat, Cruise control. This is a 2 wheel drive model, and has 4-wheel ABS, and front and side airbags.
Optional extras are as follows; Side step bars, MACH Audio upgrade ( includes 6 disk changer, upgraded speakers and a small sub, this vehicle is also equipped with Low-Jack. New this vehicle cost $24,665.00 and currently KBB and NADA prices it at between $3500-$4500. I am currently the second owner of the vehicle and I have Title in hand.
Pros- AC works great, get about 24MPG, Would make a Great DD, Over all good condition, Tires are approx. 3 months old and are in great condition.
Cons- Moon roof Does not function ( Previeous owner said he heard a "pop" and it would close after that) I have not taken it apart yet but can hear to sunroof motor running. Front windshield has several cracks and chips ( about $250 for a new one). Car could use a good detailing ( I have spent about 3 hours in it and it probably needs another 2-3 hours). Rear head rest are MIA ( previous owner did not include them) and the rear drivers side door has a fabric that needs to be re-glued
Over all this Escape is in great condition though it does have some flaws it is mechanically sound.
Seeing as KBB and NADA placed is between 4500-3500 I am going to split the middle ground and say $4000.00 OBO. I am not Firm on this price but please don't waste time Low baling me. I will consider partial trades
