Good luck you all, be safe!!!
it's 4:20am and i survived yet another night of La Vaca. Last time i was there it was a BET event and that was kinda....wouldn't say ackward exactly...definitely a...good time...but don't know what was worse, being the ONLY white person in the entire club or having 3 chicks give me a complete physical...they didn't even bother telling me to turn my head and cough, how dare them  and then they go  yesh ladies, you'll need 3 hands
oh yeah, bad things happen on mtn runs i don't organize...i'm gonna try to make it though but i don't know...other priorities like sleep and :la: and :hump: may take precedence over burning fuel and tires :dunno: good night.
You do know what La Vaca means, right? That explains the lack of little hotties. ha.
Y'all better be awake cause I am and I really don't like being awake right now. I'm on my way.... hope is doesn't take me too long to get all the way up there.
Oh cry me a river, lmoa. J/K :)Quote:

yay! I just got out of the shower so I'm gonna get dressed and head on up. I'm coming from Buckhead so it may take me a little while. Not gonna eat before I leave though so food sounds fabulous!
I'm ready to drive! Woo hoo!
Need to stop for gas and check the tires before we all roll out though.
its pretty wet up here, we had a hella storm last night, but the roads will probably dry out quite a bit

I'm glad I got to meet some of you peeps, Tim, Jenn B, Jamal, etc. My E30, hopefully, will be done and on the road by the ed of this month, so, well see what happens. If it's road-ready before the next mountain run, I'm there for sure!!!

Either way, I had a great time and hope to see you guys out again.Quote:

I can't wait to see the pics... they are gonna be great.
No videos of the dirfit MINI  I am so over-analytical of my own driving... jeez... such a girl. I'm wondering if its too much rear sway or if I am setting up wide turns wrong cause I had no problems in the really tight ones, which are what I'm far more used too. Who wants to drive the MINI and tell me if its the car or if I need to work on those wide turns? Tips and pointers gladly accepted :goodjob:
looks like it was a good run
shit, i have no camera but a tiny pocket sony....i just borrow cameras whenever i can get a chance.Quote:

That being said, I would be more than happy to drive the mini anytime, or sit shotgun and give constructive advice...Quote:

I PM's you about your rear sway, I have an even better idea. Let us know what tools are needed to adjust the links, and somebody can probably just bring them to one of the Northpoint meets I suggested you start comming to:yes:, and I'm sure we can do it right there. Couldn't take more than 20 minutes I'm sure.
EDIT: If you want proper drift training, though, just ask mike, he's the group pro-drifter :ninja:. He prolly lives closer than most any of us either, I'm up at exit 7a off 400. A ways from Buckhead
I'll give you drifting advice for a mini... dont try! lol.
Why not? A little casual, personal drifting can never hurt. Not saying try to compete or anything, but it's nice to klnow how to drift your own car, and to bring it back in line when you don't mean it, lol.Quote:

Oh... and thanks for the compliment on the driving. I wouldn't call myself a beginner by any means, I've had a license for 10 years now but this particular car is only 8 months old and I've never had any real training. My 04 MINI (current MINI is an 06) was a lot easier to control because it had less power and well, I was driving in Indiana and if you've ever been there well... yeah. My previous cars certainly saw a lot of my crazy driving but were stock... poor college student and all that. I think I need some practice, pointers and maybe a little more camber and I should be good. Knowing my perfectionist ways, I'll never be 100% happy with my skills though. :lmfao: I'll have to head back up for some ride alongs sometime soon though for sure. I'm quite anxious to learn and impove :goodjob:
Oh, stop, a little drift when nobody's looking isn't a BAD thing :goodjob:Quote:

Welp.. as I was enjoying my weekend in Helen.. I saw you guys cruise through around Noon-1pm or so..
good seeing you guys!!! wish I could've made the drive..
next time :)

word
nice to meet everyone for sure!!!
jamal post up those pictures!!!
alot of your oversteer is likely rear sway bar related, i had alot of problems with my civic wanting to step out in the mtns with a rear sway
ill organize another one for sure..
definately not this next weekend
maybe 2 or 3 weeks from now :)

2nd time- entering a decreasing radius, uphill. likly trailbraking, which is a great setup for oversteer (like you did).
Now, did u have any understeer problems on any of the turns? I was definatly right on ur ass both of those turns, and i didnt feel like i was pushing it, so im gonna lean towards, you had very few if any understeer problems and that in fact it could be you suspension setup to oversteer a little (sway bar, good place to start)... anywho, nice driving ;)
It's wheel base is 4" less than my car and with a stiff rear sway it's going to come around. I would imagine the tires used on this type of driving would be a disadvantage too. Hey Jenn, what PSI were you running in the tires...was it the same for front and rear?Quote:
