Like tripper said, the best way to enjoy that show is to rent a golf cart, set up a tent infront of the "No Tents Here" sign and have a blast.

And paul, i can think of one think thats wrong with tunerfest shootout, no drifting :P
i agree 100% and we got your drifting covered for Tunerfest this year

This whole thread is just opinions, everyone has one, sometimes they are good sometimes not. oh well. live and learn. If i was FD i would of been contacting the locals prior to the events to help out theirs... if we get support we give it. Simple. Either way goodluck.

    [QUOTE=Brett]Well said.

I've explained what happen to our group in my forum but I will do it again for you Brett. I was already at 2 day show. My intention was to be a DF and I did support it. I got tied up with a sponsorship offer for the next FX show. I made it a sticky in the team forum and it was topic at the team meeting. We have a lot of guys with a lot of different focus. We had people in Tennessee showing the same weekend and my northside contact was in Inidanapolis (spelling?). I had a group that was supposed to be there and only three showed but did not compete. I was not at all pleased when I was told about the lack of attendance. I don't feel the question of my supporting IA is an issue here. The whole debate was over HIN vs FD. If my support of IA has not been proven over and over again for the last four years then someone needs to take off the blinders. I consistantly provide coverage for events and always come through when Paul or Pablo need pictures and don't have photos. When I write atricles I always find a way to drop IA's name along with your team's name, and any other team that I see at shows. Hell Brett I've dropped your name personaly in articles along with Pablo and Julio. When most people are sitting back chilling I'm working the whole show taking photos to get coverage out there.

Which reminds me when I get asked for photos I give everyone a link that asks for them and I get a promise they will post them and when they don't I never question their support. I just figure they didn't like the content and I strive to do better next time.

Eddie I find it ironic you single me out of all this when Julio is the one who made the actual comment, I simply agreed due to one of your members wanting to bash the IA show last weekend when many werent even there to see how it was. So take it as you will, either way your choice, But DO NOT try and single me out and accuse me of trying to question how you support IA. I never once have done that. If you are going to try and put words and thoughts in my head, we will then have a problem.

Actually I PM'd Julio and explained to him about the attendance. It just looked like a gang up on me when you posted Brett so I addressed it from that point that is why I only included the Well Said quote because it brougth up the question of support. I don't think anyone can put words in your head bro and no intention of singling you out was meant, you and I have no problem unless you don't give me back that 5 dollars you owe me jk.

THe deal is simple, We need to support the scene in our area. Even if you dont go, help keep event is ATL, or you'll be in Charlotte every week to do something. Its that simple.
I realize HIN charlotte is a BIG event, If I could I'd go simply for exposure. The issue is and has always been NCCA favors some groups, and not others. Just like F' D 2 years back when NCCA screwed that event up from almost every car show goers perspective.
Do I dislike NCCA, NO, do I feel the tables are obviousally slanted? YES, w/ great reason. (when BOS is determined BEFORE the show starts, I have a prob w/ that...as was the case 3 years ago at a show I wont name when an IA staffer, and another guy on this thread judged all cars, found Jeff G won BOS by 7 points, and they (NCCA) still awarded Jay Laub BOS...THATS CRAP...cheating, underminded, and as wrong as a organization can be) They couldnt even give the judges an explination outside of "Jays RX7 wins, thats final". Mind you this is when it was blk and basic. Then add how last year went, c'mon.
I wish the Charlotte crowd the best, we'll be here chillin w/ Slipstream and Formula D.

I agree, NCCA is very as you say slanted on thier ways of judges, and I remember 2 years ago at HIN when i parked next to you and a guy with a stick on wide body kit that was only being held on by 3m tape beat you, that was some BS!!!

I PERSONALY WILL BE AT HIN CHARLOTTE INSTEAD ITS THE SAME DAY AND WELL WORTH THE DRIVE, IF YOU GOT A SHOW CAR I WOULD TAKE IT TO NC FOR A BETTER COMPETITION AND DEFINATELY A BETTER EVENT. THE HIN CREW HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD TO THIS SITE AND ITS MEMBERS AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THEM WHEN THERE ARE HERE IN THE SOUTH.

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW THEY HAD LIKE 30 CARS ACTUALLY SHOWING LAST YEAR AT FORMULA D, HIN NC HAD OVER 200+ CARS

I completely agree with you Paul!!! Ill be at HIN NC

I have enterted the past two shows there and somethign happened to where I was charged twice for the show...so instead of my money being refunded they said they would credit me the next time they come in town....well next year cam by and a different company was incharge of it and I had to pay again to enter....

Im all for the F.D to come back and have its car shows...I would have went if the show wasnt the same day as HIN...

Yup, they said in thier defense "A widebody always beats a normal car" I asked, even when its a stick on kit laying on the floor, and the hood and trunk are closed....." I got no answer. All the NCCA staff knew they'd been caught, several even appologized to me..... the ring leader called me a trouble maker.

    you are a trouble maker

na, whats funny is the same NCCA judges here used to do those whitley shows down south and we know about those shows... their judges wouldn't know the difference in a SI, GTI, STI, if it bit them in the ass. :jerkit:

I entered 3 cars in the FD car show once. Never again. "Show" was sponsored my Mazda, and only 1 Mazda was in it. An all stock FD. I brought 3 cars: a convertible M3 (lots of custom CF, doors, etc), a TT 350Z (when there were no other around), and a convertible 350Z (all show). The "judges" had no clue what the cars were, let alone how to judge them. I decided to never again show a car at that show. I went in last year, looked at the cars, and left my car at home. Not because of the competitors ( I like everyone's cars), but because of the judges/promoters. It was definately amatuer hour. You cannot call FD a truely national event.

Hey guys, allow me to introduce myself. my name is Steve from Formula D. I havent kept up with this section of the FD post and i apologize for the delayed post. as many of you have complained the car show was less than par last year. therefore we decided to cancel the show. we found it unfair for our show competitors to leave our event with a bad taste in their mouths and ending up hating Formula D. You must also take into consideration that we are a drifting series before we are a "national car show" event. HIN does a great job of doing that, why? becuase they mainly focus on car shows. Last year we loved the ATL crowd and we are very happy about bringing our series again this year. Im sorry for all of those who have had a bad time last year but definitely this year will be alot better. We would just like to please the home crowd one reason we dubed this event "Drift Atlanta!" For anyone with comments or concerns please dont hesitate to contact me directly @ [email protected] i will try to respond as soon as possible. thank you guys and we look forward to your support!

I have an Idea, why don't you guys get in touch with Paul and set it up as a drift event/Ia car show as part of the IA car show series going on?

That would have been a great idea. Unforutunately it is too close to event day to make these changes.
