I'd check it out but the Tech Car Show is that day. Looks like a good turnout at both, sucks they had to double schedule them.

Should be good turnouts for both.
Yeah, the GT show has a lot more people (Tech alumni) from the actual automotive field as well as race teams that come and show off their achievements. Tech also alienates a lot of people since you have to be student, faculty, or alumni in order to register a car at the show.Quote:

IL, IA is going to be up here so don't get all frustrated about that but I know the non blingin people on IL are superior. This show is one week before the ATL H-tech meet.
Its time for the 2006 Berry College Car Show.

Dont know why that comment was made. I will bet this site will bring more people then IL will/would anyday.
And WE EVEN MADE IT A STICKY ON HERE.
To bad is my GF bday that day... If not, I would love to stop by that event.. I would love to meet B16MADMAN or whatever his Screen name is.
Talk about childish and Stupid.
Yeah not a smart move on his part. I know him, he means no harm, but still.
Bottom line, this show is for everyone.
So everybody make it out :)
And, of course the sticky is much appreciated.
Heh, it's all in fun and games. My opinion of this site has changed this past year. I'm extremely busy w/classes and work and I tend to make some unncessary posts at times. I'm not going to go and edit them or whatever. Opinions can be formed if they'd like to, I'll be fine.
It sounds like a lot of people from here are interested in the show. Hope to see people come out 6 days from now.
Shameless plug. If you are wanting to come and know a thing or two about cars and would like a free lunch I NEED judges. please pm me, or email me if you are interested.
How many have pre-reg'ed?
About 10-15 vehicles have pre-reg'd.Quote:

Probably because saving $5 isnt enough motivation to register online ahead of time.
No worries, the event will be even bigger than last year. We expect a crowd of 700-1000 people combined with the battle of the bands that we are hosting in the adjacent field.
See you all out there!! :bigok:
sounds like it's gonna rock
^^Indeed!
Just got word: There will be a motorcycle dyno. I think its going to be $25 for one pull. Invite all of your buddies with bikes!!
Thanks,
Daniel

I'm posting on mult. forums my request so to keep in order wise please respond to me by email or aim @ [email protected] or b16madman.
You'd need to meet around 12 to discuss the judging system and tally'ing up votes. Can't judge your own car, sorry. If you want to judge the class it is in then we'll have to DQ your car or do something of that sort.
hey look thats spoolins car!!
Indeed! You missed out on some good hamburgers and hotdogs man.Quote:

Still on, the rain should dry before the show starts.
We'll call it at 10am if its not going to happen.
Rain delay is set for Sunday, the next day (April 2nd).
See everyone there!

I knew you would get a better response on here then alot of local sites..
Def Good luck w/ the event
had a good time today with my friends that ventured the rain and long drive up there...sucks that the Dyno guys bailled on you and the judging in our category got screwed up...suppossed to have had mild and wild...beautiful campus there regardless...hope next year goes a bit better for ya"ll...it was a nice day in the sun...might want to plan the show on a day that Year One and GA Tech aren't showing on the same day...those shows and the threat of rain kept alot away...
I will have to agree with SEAN on the judging being screwed up. I had a car in Honda/Acura Mild and My car got beat out by another car that was closed the whole time it was there. My car had both doors the hood and the trunk open, clean as hell and I even explained every mod done to it. But for some reason or another I got beat by a close to stock (with the exception of the wheels) car with messed up window tint (more bubbles than a red neck bubble bath). I just think that was pretty messed up in my opinion.
Anybody got any pics from the show?
http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5833 has a bunch of pics from the Tech show.
Nice afternoon, smaller turnout due to the rain. Sorry I didn't take a camera.
Thanks for coming out everyone.
The judging is always going to be the touchiest issue with a car show. We tried our best to keep it smooth, but there were 1 or 2 hiccups, which is not bad at all.
We do this show on literally a $0 budget and depend on sponsors etc... to help us out, its all student run etc...
Anyhow, for judging, we actually used Nopi's judging setup this year. Our judge coordinator spoke with the judge coordinator for Nopi shows and we got all of their documentation and that was used for the show.
The problem with class mixups is that we register most people on the fly, and very few bother to pre-register online. We can screen the online registrations and double check that the car matches the class.
Remember: This is a low-buck college car show, not Nopi nationals. Its meant to be a fun enjoyable event, not a outright competition.
JayKnight: What car beat you out? The red lude with the black wheels? I didnt judge that category, but I have seen that car in person before and it is absolutely perfect, especially for its age. No doubt your car is awesome as well.
SEAN: We really didnt have to much slack on the show date. Its VERY hard to tip toe in-between shows during the spring. But you are correct, we lost a lot of traffic to year one I am sure. We had probably 5-6 times the number of classic cars last year as we did this year. Poor showing of the oldies this year.
Anyhow, it was still a success, and the weather turned out pretty good.
Had a good time also, I was the grey Mach in the 80's Muscle Mild Class. Didn't get a chance to see the 84 Cutlass that beat me. What did it have done. Please dont tell me I got beat by a 22 year old stock family car!
Sorry I didnt make it out!!! I had planned on being there but my car wasnt ready...
Shit nopi doesnt even check the cars that get entered in what class.....two years ago civics took home 1st and 2nd place in a few accord classes.....Quote:
