I would try and load that video but my internet is supremely slow today. But yeah, chuck knows what he is talking about, I almost got nailed up there by a Porsche that was on my side of the road once, so remember to stay withing the lines. Plus, I've seen people hit the paint on the road and loose it before, wouldn't want that now...
wow this thread died lol
lots of good video here too www.deadzonevideo.com
who else is goin
so is everyone down with no set schedule of things but we just decide once we meet at walmart what to do?
im down. i dont no anyone but what the hell. im in macon so i may have 2 leave at like 8 90 240
X2
Guessing he drives a 1990 240
i got a few route options that could put us in helen around 1:30ish??? people may want to grab a decent breakfast if you aren't used to lunch that late...i figure we should have a couple hours of driving, break for lunch for a couple hours then figure it out from there...carolina, deals gap??? more of the local loop??
also, remember walkie talkies and a lightweight jacket if you are planning up being up there after the sun goes down.
get all the loose crap you don't need out of your car...or get a headache listening to it roll around all day.
deals gap would be great
I got my permission slip signed by my wife:goodjob:
Chuck, You will be leading the way lol.
Hmm I might come but dont know what to bring....the bike or the car....hmmm
If I come Ill either be in the 86' Accord, or the 82' KZ550
Edit: we should do a loop up through suches too... :)
fuck it lets just take a 3 day tour and ride all the roads lol
Lol honestly the loops dont take that long, its gonna be the stops that take the longest. XD
LOLOLOL! You people are tards.
1) Mountain Run on a Saturday?
2) Mountain Run the weekend of Goldrush when there will be 200,000+ people in Dahlonega?
HAHAHA! Lemme know how this works out... :lmfao:
Oh yeah heres a few efsquad runs last year. These are mostly of blood mountain but there are a few clips coming from dahlonega and one through suches as well, I was leading through most but you can barely see me sometimes lol. These are to help a little if you dont know the route. Also if the leaves have fallen a good bit then i advise not to run like a raped ape, you will prob slip on the leaves.

EDIT: Is goldrush really coming up? Shit hmmm may not go.
Hmmm goldrush days are a problem just checked.
As soon as I was able to drive that was the one weekend I made sure to LEAVE the area, not go to it lol!
I'm sure they'd love to have 30+ extra cars in the Gold Rush Parade though, if you're a lucky one in a convertible you can drive around the years beauty pagent contestants. Teeth not included.
i think someone said they are going in an SUV or truck....this isn't a high paced mtn run jason, whats wrong with a bunch of imports going to leaf look??
why do people think this is so stupid?? or is everyone up there that weekend just tards in your opinioin?? i've called it a parade about 20 posts ago, i've explained light pace, i've explained that we will probably be on a road with tons of peoples...2 hours lunch break in helen...this will be no fly through and be gone before they know what hit 'em....SLOW PACED MTN RUN for anyone else who wants to skim the thread and tell us we are stooopid. if someone is suprised when we get there i'm going to roll their car down the mtn...lol...BIGGGGG JK, lol
i also have no problem slowing to 2 mph for 10-15 minutes if the roads are literally FULL...just hope the po-po doesn't try to pull out an 'obstructing the flow'
I'm not saying a mtn. run with 30 cars is going to be a parade, which it will be. I'm saying it's GOLD RUSH WEEKEND, there will be over 200,000 people in Dahlonega this Saturday. That is 196,000+ more people than the town's population itself. Think about it, if just 1% of them go for a drive in the mountains...that's 1,960 people. If 5% of them go for a drive in the mountains, that's nearly 9,800 people on the mtn roads...
The title is correct, "Blood Mountain Meet" because nobody is going to be doing anything but hard parking. I lived there for over 15 years, I think I know what happens on the 3rd weekend of October every year...good luck lol!
i was the one who said it would be a parade...back on page 2 or 3...we know...yet we are going. hopefully we can stay off the main main roads enough to keep moving as some sort of pace...thanks, i'm sure we'll need a little luck. honestly didn't know this GOLD RUSH was that big (really 200,000+ people?), but there is still plenty of pavement. we can head out until we get out of the maddness...hell maybe find some 'new' roads/routes.
for anyone else that wants no part in 'leaf looking' or 'taking a break' as i call it should stay home...there will be traffic for sure at some point, gonna do our best to keep it clear.
may just meet at turners corner then head out toward a lake burton loop i know; will just depend how stuck you guys are on helen for lunch.
so wtf are we doin this or what i cant really tell
i'll be there at the meeting spot in the morning unless is it POURING nasty rain...there are plenty of roads, plenty far from the GOLD RUSH that we can entertain ourselves on for days...i'm down for driving somewhere!! deals gap isn't having any festivals this weekend :D
...i figure we will see who actually shows up then get some input and ideas...would hate to get input and agree one something with people who aren't even going to be there.
I may still come, depends on if Im buying another car or not this weekend.
so is everyone backing out now or what
I am still going. And I know a bunch of others are still going. Chuck I am going to PM you my number, if you could call it any time tomorrow after 9am and we can discuss a route, I just know that I want to stop at the one hiker shop on blood mountain for the view/pictures then you can decide from there.
