haha, i used to drive to hayesville, nc once a month to see my fiance's grandparents.

i enjoy making this drive! i once chased an SRT-4 down the mountain in my sol. i had just gotten new tires and they were sticking wonderfully! (the driver was getting stupid, and almost lost it a couple times, i know i scared him shitless being on his ass the entire time) times like these are when i miss my car so much.. RIP del sol

i dont have anything but my truck to drive right now..
im trying to get my 98 Teg on the road. But,i dont think it will be for a couple weeks. wish i could though, it would be a fun trip with other people!

plan to make this trip again in a month or two and i will go!

yea it was an svx, but barely running. I think it ended up stopping at the top and hanging out while everyone went ahead.

On that run I was really just taking it easy until the end, but thanks for the pointers

My car has been having some coolant issues, and if I wasn't working, I would have been able to make it. However, you should set something up again, just in the Fall. Most people are back from vacation, and in school/working. I am sure a Fall Saturday would be an amazing time to go!

A Saturday any time is not amazing unless it's midnight. Too many bicycles, tourists, and police activity. Early or late afternoon Sunday is the best...or just run at night.

This is how you plan a mountain run but I don't do it any more...only at night without the presence of inexperienced drivers. It was complete choas the last time I took 34+ cars up lol!

I have written a detailed PDF of a route that will get your feet wet on ever major road between Dahlonega, Suches, and Helen...with mileage and landmarks throughout. Basically a giant figure 8 hitting the best roads up in the best direction...unfortunately I won't ever publicly release the PDF. Yeah I'm an ass :tongue:
