He's the MR2 with the slipping clutch I probably made a little worse.
Ha, I think you did man. But I just gotta look around for a replacement. I thought it was gonna blow up when you were driving, no offense, I just never drove it like that before I didn't really know what was going to happen.

The 4AGE20V is a high rev engine. It idles at or above 1k. VVT kicks in at 3500+. The damn 1000 page Toyota Big Green Book says optimal shift is between 6000-7500rpm.

Steve isnt saying you're shifting wrong, he's telling you you're starting from a dead stop wrong. Big difference. And he's not being a dick, he's just trying to give you a pointer so you don't have to change your clutch again so soon. Now if he came across as "You don't know how to drive a fucking stick dipshit. You need to come watch me drive my Badass EVO as it's God's Chariot!" then I would be pissed off and tell him to go fuck himself.

Steve is a good person and is just trying to help out. Don't jump up his ass just because he gave you a pointer. Also what series engine, how high it revs and at what RPM the VVT kicks in doesn't mean shit about clutch engagement. It has to do with type of clutch material, Springs, and Clutch adjustment.

exactly chriskm it just takes practice.. you can even work on reLeasing off of the clutch while not giving it any gas, so that you can get a better feel for the release point

Well I'm glad that everyone else is sees my comments as me trying to help him out instead of bashing on him (which is not my intent). We all had to learn how to drive a manual at some point in our life and can always learn something from others, no matter how long we've been driving.

    I'm hungry and tired.

Also, my wheels bearings are already squealing after 3 weeks of use..

Well, I'm sorry for taking it the wrong way.
I know you're a nice guy, and you're trying to help, but it felt like you were bashing me. I wasn't able to sleep last night because I got home at 4 and had stuff to do at 7:30.

No, I don't always launch my car. I am perfectly capable of driving it correctly, and 95% of the time I do. My Grand Prix was a stick, my first Celica was a stick.
I admit I bang a little hard on this car 'cause it can take it. I baby it when it's necessary, keep , but it's capable of taking a beating.

But seriously. I know you're trying to help, and I'm sorry I got defensive.

Yeah, I applied it on Saturday night. I'm about to wash the car again so I'll see how well it works.

No sweat man. I was only simply trying to help and so were others. I would hate to hear down the road that you're having to replace the clutch once again.

I'd have to see them in person. Looking at the pictures of them mounted on the Durango, my choice would be no but they could look good on your truck if it was lowered.

nope. went to auction awhile ago. Don't know what it sold for but the starting bid was 4500. For a car that was 18yrs old, didn't run, and had a salvaged title. Seemed a little high but its gone. I miss it but am happy with my current bucket.
