when i pull out my right rear spins so it sends more power to it so it spins and spins and spins

If it's just your right rear spinning then more than likely you do not have Posi/Limited slip. (You may and it's possible that its slap worn out, but highly unlikely) Limited Slip/Posi turns both wheels instead of just one. It's done via Clutch packs inside of your read end between the spider gears. There will be a large spring "Jammed" in between the spider gears pushing out on the clutch discs causing both axles to turn the same direction.

Here is how a differential works, by far the best video explanation I've ever seen. I think it gets into Limited Slip explanation as well near the end. Take the time to watch it all as it is a VERY good tutorial.

great vid... i understand all of it... but still believe i have limited slip...
i dont know what else it would be cause i know i dont have lockers out back... and that what i need

see in the vid if one wheel stopped the rotating gears will still rotate and turn the spinning wheel which i think applies

A Locker, Posi, and Limited Slip are Fundamentally the same thing, they all drive both wheels at the same time. An "Open" Diff means you only turn one wheel at a time which gives you the "One Wheel Peel" when going around the corner in the rain.

Easiest 2 ways to find out is to jack up rearend and

Method 1. turn the diveshaft by hand, if both wheels turn seperate direction from each other it is open diff. Although this doesn't always work as sometimes with no resistance both wheels will turn same way.

Or Method 2 which is better:

Have someone hold one wheel to stop from turning and you turn the other wheel by hand. If you can turn your wheel without the other wheel turning you have an open diff.

ok... after much deliberation ... i have come to the conclusion that i have an open diff

but my dad said that in the '60s an open diff was called limited slip... which is where i got that from

and yes my burn outs are peglegging

    Thanks

BTW, i think shaving your balls near the hood of that car would either get you shot or at least a restraining order :P
