Official MTN run Part 2. 10a.m May 11th.
The first one was a great hit so lets do it again. How could we not its a great fun and really not that far to get there. Plan for lunch in Helen and the whole figure 8 again. I'm counting on Dirty M, Stark, Mike, WRX guys and Rafa to be there again.

Yeah true. I'm sure you guys will leave me in the dust on a straight run but the twisties are a different ball game altogether.. I did beat my friend's G35 sedan on the dragon late last year. Anyhow, let's see. I might have to counter the power deficit with some good ol' fashioned bravery.

Umm.. so? Both versions have pretty much the same power (~290 at the crank & 230-240 rwhp) and weigh pretty much the same (~3500lbs). Unless you have Walter Rohrl's shifting skills, serious weight reduction or a blower in there, the performance should pretty much be the same.. maybe 0.1sec here or there. Not trying to get into a debate out here but just pointing out the facts.
Mike a mini S with a half ass set up will dominate over almost any FR car in the mountains. Forgiving is key on the street and those things are nothing but sheer predictable speed.

I had two of them and if I still had mine, I'd gladly take it up there and show everyone just how capable they are. I never met anything I couldn't keep up with in my MINIs. Sure, the big power cars could get away from me in the straights but no way in the twisties.
My 06 was well over 100hp per liter. Handled like a dream.

Umm .. a bit over-optimistic IMO. I've driven Miatas and Caymans that can EASILY keep up with any MINI, be it a stripper N/A or a pumping JCW.

predictablitiy. Understeer is a whole lot safer/easier to correct then oversteer homie.

looks to be only a couple honda's... which i have had fun up in the mountains with a whole pack of honda's before. You just have to get smart drivers....
...it isn't a mountain run without a Honda......or 2......or 3......
