Guests with Xbox 360
The guest feature for Xbox LiveŽ lets your buddy join in the Xbox Live multiplayer action on your console before he or she becomes an Xbox Live member. All you need is an extra Xbox 360 controller, either wired or wireless.
Two people can play side-by-side on Xbox Live from a single console when a game supports the following:
Xbox Live play
Multiplayer gaming
Split-screen display
When you fire up a game, select your gamertag to register yourself and have your friend select Guest.
You, of course, have to be a member of Xbox Live.
To join now, see Join Xbox Live.
To let a friend play as a guest with your Xbox Live membership:
Load an Xbox 360 game or an original Xbox game that's compatible with both Xbox 360 and guests.
Xbox Live will auto-detect your two controllers, either of which can be used to join as yourself or as a guest. You pick your gamertag and let your friend select Guest.
The console will assign your guest a gamertag that's based on yours, and any feedback submitted for your guest will be applied to your gamer profile.
Note
Guests have privileges for multiplayer gameplay only, not communication (game invites, voice chat, etc.) or Xbox Live Marketplace activities.
