you have to be fucking kidding me 50gb games...? ummm right you are talking about a game the size of hmmm let me see the entire LORD OF THE RINGS + STAR WARS BOX SETS lol... don't think so you won't be seeing games of that size anywhere in this generation ;) Microsoft isn't even going to make HD games and if they did they have triple layer HD 90gb disc what the fuck are you going to put on a game to take up 90gb capability? nothing.Quote:

the wii -origionality +the boxing is pretty sweet
I personally own one of each, PS3 OWNS the rest..... There aren't a lot of titles out now, but as soon as gran turismo HD comes out, a lot of people will change their minds about paying $60 for a game. graphics are FUCKING AWESOME. I have a 42" plasma that displays in 1080P, so I can see the extent of the graphics of the PS3 and they are fucking awesome. I waited in line for my 60gb unit, and I would do it again for another one. it was definitely worth it!
well, hardware wise, the PS3 pwns the rest. The Xbox 360 is starting to really hit its stride, and the wii does something neither of its competitors does. Honestly, I think the Wii will do well because it does not compete with the 360 or PS3. I think the PS3 will sell well, but this will be the beginning of Sony's decline, and the 360 will probably edge out the PS3 because it represents a nice middle ground between the consoles.
Profit wise, Nintendo will bring home the most bacon like they always do. Microsoft will probably finally break even and Sony will slip even further into debt.
The gamecube was an utter "failure" yet posted $33 million profit. The xbox, a success in many people's heads lost microsoft $160 million. The PS2, which outsold both the gamecube and xbox combined lost sony $44 million. I'll take Nintendo's "failure" any day.
But can the XBox 360 read that disc? And what format is it?Quote:

So the 360 doesn't have any HD games? Didn't know that. that sux balls.
I never said the PS3 could connect to the microsoft network, but who cares? What is on this microsoft network that the PS3 can't do on the net?
360 was $200 for me at microcenter for premium :DQuote:

LOLOL at all these people defending a system that is in fact less powerful and with less features. Seems that some can't accept the 360 is beaten.
Who cares? If you like the 360, then more power to you.
Oh, and did anyone stop and think that some people actually wanted some of the extra features that you get with the PS3. If you consider what you get with each package the PS3 is by far the batter deal, its even already been proven in a previous thread.
I've played the 360 and the PS3, and demo'd the Wii. The PS3 is what I prefer, by far. Don't let it bother you to much.:goodjob:
LOLOL at all you people arguing about VIDEO GAMES
Read what disc, HD DVD/Blu-ray? HD they have a seperate drive you can purchase to watch movies if you want, but again what is the point...Quote:

the average 360 game is using 49% of the capability of the DVD9 format... they are 8.5GB... hello if blu-ray is 25GB (and also up to 50GB) what the hell is Playstation going to put on the other 20+GB of space? Software companys work to make games smaller as it is, b/c programming becomes more advanced so you don't need as much code to do the same things.
you said PS3 can do the same which infact it can't... xbox has the best online system and beyond that you have full capability to use xbox with your microsoft network at home from there you have a full range of file swapping and an infinate amount of resources. furthermore the after market is awesome for xbox!
ps3 is more powerful as far as hardware, there is no doubt... but when you can do the same shit + more for less $$$ its a no brainer. you can get a 360 premium for as low as 200$ compared to the 600$ retail price of PS3. If 400$ more is worth watching movies :goodjob:
well the 360 is out a year now and the prices finally dropped. the way to get it for 200 is get a microcenter card and a 100$ rebate. After one year we'll see who's got rebates on the ps3.Quote:

If the compiler/decoder/engine is too complex even the simple shit gets slowed down, but if it isnt powerful enough everything is slowed down too.
Also the biggest problem i have with most games is that they are too short. Hell hate to say my favorite series final fantasy was too short. Its why i play WoW atm cus theres really no end to it. and in the future they will want to use up more space. Lengthen the game, better graphics more details. A wider array of textures, voices, colors etc. Also it allows them to optimize gameplay for different setups such as 360 with HD or without rather than having the actual 360 decode the difference and possibly slow down gaming. Its an option, not saying that they may or may not do it.
true, xbox network is more advanced atm because its been in full play since the orignal xbox. With microsoft at its back it should have a good chance at being better due to the network that microsoft runs. But on the other hand, sony's partner in crime is IBM. and overall ibm actually runs the larger network infrastructure around the world. It will be fun to watch how both turn out in a few years.
IMO theres just too many variables to pick a winner.
One is more advanced, one has been out a year and has a market hold.
One plays blu-ray one HD.
Somepeople prefer halo, some prefer FF, etc etc. list could go on.
All i know is atm i love my ps3. No doubt blu-ray movies are awesome, cant wait for the games out in march theres like 5 of em. In the future i will prolly pick up a 360 also just because unfortunately as in the past, i tend to buy stuff i dont really need. like a gamecube... and no games...
well you can't complain w/ prices not dropping for 360 they have a console priced at 299$ at launch which was what 50$ more then Xbox/PS2 launch? Sony came out w/ 250$ over PS2 launch!Quote:

games like WOW are still not even taking up the full size of a DVD... what is WOW 6gb total maybe and that is the largest online game right now. the other reason why you won't see games of that size is b/c of LOADING times... do you know how long it would take to load up 25gb even on blu-ray? why do you think console games have more capabilities... they are driven from your harddrive... even blu-ray if i'm not mistaken is only running at 400mbps and sata drives are 1.5GBps... there is just no comparision. Also it cost a butt load of money to make a game, not everyone can build a title like: WOW, Final Fantasy, HALO, GTA, etc.
There is alot of hype behind Sony products, its that simple you have to remember game developers aren't going to make 25gb and 8gb versions of games... just isn't going to happen. They are going to build what the market demands. PS3 has nice technology but I already have microsoft network at home including a 360 which was bought a year ago and the only thing a 600$ console has to offer me is Blu-Ray..? sorry not buying it.
Its definately going to be interesting to see where the market goes... for some reason I don't see Microsoft waiting to see what Sony does, but moving forward on their development in the industry... I am predicting they eventually build an all in one console + media center machine. The market is just too good for it. I love mine. Microsoft has sold over 20+ million Media Center machines worldwide as of Oct I think and Vista has yet to launch. The last 360 update even allowed connection to Windows Media for content connectivity which is cool b/c you don't even need Media Center for that. I think it will take a while before Microsoft can even compete with Sony on the console market worldwide, but they will definately start to pick away at their market.
not argueing about that. your right. talking about wow tho alot of the database etc is stored on the actual server tho so if it were a sort of 1player game it would be alot larger. i checked my wow folder its 5.4gb.Quote:

Well considering if you try to go out and buy a Blu Ray Player, you will not find one cheaper then $750, then a PS3 is a hell of a deal. You are not only getting a Blu Ray Player but you are also getting a video game consol for free in essance.
However, if you could care less about HD and just want a "video game consol" with good graphics but never plan on taking advantage of the Blu Ray Player, then you are waisting your money with the PS3 and need to get an xbox 360. (note: xbox can attach a HD-DVD drive, however, HD-dvd players only retail for about $450 anyway compared to $750 for Blu Ray)
If you could really care less about graphics period, and just want a fun, enjoyable, simple game system, then the Wii is the way to go.
Each system is completly different, each system is a bargin for what it offers, it is all a matter of what kind of gamer you are and a matter of preference. All 3 gaming companies will be around for awhile and arent going anywhere.
I think the Wii is going to be more child friendly with both the game selection and the price for parents. However, as the kid hits preteen and up, they will feed into the PS3 and Xbox360. No kid really cares what the game systems offer, simply how well each company market's it to the kids to make them WANT it!!
I will probably end up getting a wii because I like the old school games, but I will probably get one of the other systems as well once the price spike goes down.

by the way, 360 will take the cake with Halo 3 release no doubt. Its already got a huge library, with consoles on shelves consistently. PS3 still has a long way to go to catch up. Wii will always be in the middle, plain and simple. Innovation is good, but nothing beats a massively popular FPS. The Wii doesn't have a cult favorite just yet, give them time, they can be creative. BUT THEY DEFINITELY NEED ONLINE MULTI PLAYER TO EVEN COMPETE, imho
the wii will never mount up to either. the PS3 will die out soon and come down in price. 360 is just all around amazing. IMO
hahha are you insane! by this time next year nobody will even know what an xbox 360 is. Its all about what games come out for what systems and ONLY that system... so far all xbox has that ps3 doesnt is Gears of war all the other good games come out on BOTH systemsQuote:

When you have names like CAPCOM and SQUARENIX making their Most famous titles on YOUR system that has to mean something. Just those 2 games are enough for me to want to buy the system. What does the xbox have coming out next yer
Forza motorsport 2
Halo3
(both games were made by Microsoft)
They don't have any big names making huge titles on their system
First of all I hate halo call of duty 2 and 3 were way better than halo 1 and 2. Forza motorsport is the ONLY game that I would want
Now Im not saying that xbox360 blows ass and sucks total balls im just saying that in time ps3 will be supreme. Now dont buy a ps3 right now save your money, wait until better games come out for it. if you really want a system badly get a Wii its cheap and the Wii is super fun
Wario ware
Super monkey ball
Twilight princess
Sonic
wii sports
all really really fun games and very original
Then what the hell do you call the Halo and Forza franchises?Quote:

I just bought the Xbox Elite last week. I can say, for now, that the 360 has the best games thus far. But, you get what you pay for. I paid $480 for it vs. the $600 I would have paid for the PS3. The difference in price showed the minute I turned on the 360. The fans are really loud, the "black" paint is really cheap, there's no wi-fi, no hd-dvd, and the system will probably break down on me. It's sad to say but I HAD to buy the Best Buy warranty because I knew the 360 Elite would break down sooner or later. I like the games on Xbox right now, so that's why I bit the bullet and bought the system. Gears of War is amazing and I love how Xbox Live is setup, even though I hate shelling out money for it. When the PS3 drops in price or produces better games, I might trade in the Elite back to Best Buy for store credit and pick up a PS3. The Wii is also a pretty solid system too. I would have picked that up if I had money for a 2nd system. It's great for when you have friends over, but it doesn't have the games I'm looking for when I want to play by myself.
So here's the breakdown:
Build Quality: PS3 (Winner)
Games: Xbox 360 (Winner)
Uniqueness: Wii (Winner)
Being that I have experience with all 3 systems, I shall comment on this. At the present time 360 > ps3. Even with that being the case, I still bought a ps3. The only thing attractive about Xbox is halo for many people. But, I never liked that game, so otherwise xbox doesn't appeal to me. However, in 6 months to a year ps3 > 360 all day every day, we're talking GT5 (hopefully this year), GTA4, MGS4 (hopefully this year), FFXIII, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, its just goes on and on.
As far as the price aspect, ps3 actually comes out cheaper than a 360 by a longshot. To have full 1080p in everything you have to buy an elite which is $480, to get hd dvd you have to get the player which is another $200, and for wifi its another $80. Total = $760. Versus the ps3 which has everything already for $600. Along with standardized hard drives, so you can go out and pop in a 500 gig one if you wanted, cant do this on an xbox without modding.
Also the PS3 xmb > xbox blades. Sleeker interface, as well as simpler and cooler. The console itself is badass, it perfectly matches the entertainment system, and you can barely hear it. PS3 controllers > Xbox controllers. Although the xbox controllers have vibration thats a plus, but sony is coming out with a sixaxis 2.0 that will have vibration.
So for future I'd say PS3 will win out, once the games are kicked into high gear and the Playstation Network expands.
WII is cool, but its gimmicky and gets kinda old. Not to mention its basically a gamecube with motion sensing technology.
