Anderson is known to play cat and mouse at times, but last night he took it to the extreme. He literally stood with his hands by his side, made no attempt to block or strike back and allowed Bonnar to hit him several times...... a few shots Bonnar was able to land hard and flush and they didnt appear to phase Silva at all. He landed a 3 punch power combo flush when Anderson making no attempt to block it with his hands down at his side. It was almost as if Anderson spotted Bonnar a 2 minute head start and allowed him to attempt to finish Anderson. Then all of a sudden, Anderson flips the switch and KO's Bonnar instantly. Anderson took this fight to replace a main event that was cancelled when 205 Champion Jon Jones refused to fight an injury replacement opponent stating the "risk wasnt worth the reward", i think this was Anderson's way of showing hes not scared.
and did i mention, this was above his weight class on a 6 weeks notice.
From years of watching Anderson it has become clear to me that the only thing capable of beating this guy is himself. Nobody in the world has the skill or ability to beat Anderson when he's actually fighting. You can literally see Anderson get bored inside the ring vs most opponents. When Anderson feels threatened by an opponent and actually fights somewhere near full throttle, he destroys them.
I never thought anyone would surpass Fedor as the best ever, but i'm certain that Anderson has and will continue to dominate the UFC as long as they can keep his attention.
