Garbage. I find it hilarious that every comment on the PowerATL facebook page is bashing them, and that the Bring Back Project961 page has 6x as many likes, and only been up for an hour or two now.

Station 96.1 has been worthless for a while now. Now it's going to be even more worthless. Atlanta has already gotten rid one of the better stations (106.7). Thank goodness for satellite radio. Later, QD.

Project was garbage, just like this new station will be in time. 105.7 started off pretty good and went to complete shit almost immediately. The only good thing this station has going for it is apparently they're playing 9600 songs in a row.
im listening to that 94,5 now, plays decent rap as opposed to the other garbage stations.
but i find that 99% of the time i have it on allnews 106

Id throw it on once in a while on the way home when i got tired of listening to my usual favorites. Their mix definitely got shittier over the years (for my musical taste anyway).
Although i have seen a few mentions of them moving to a higher frequency, its still sad to see another rock station get pushed out by pop.

i miss when it was 96 rock..who remembers the talk show loveline..used to come on late at night.. i loved 96.1 all the way up until they cut of the giant show..

98.9 now. Actually had forgotten about it until you mentioned it, I haven't listened to it in awhile so I don't know how good it is now though.
I listened to 99x when they came back. Every so often they'd throw up a really good block, but then they'd play a few indie type songs in a row and I'd change the channel.
Def hit or COMPLETELY miss for me.
I quit listening to 96.1 when Jefe left. Kidd Kris was complete garbage. I agree, I couldnt live without satellite radio or slacker radio.
BTW, the best radio station in Atlanta has been 97.1 since about 2 days after they went on air.
Old thread bump, you can listen to Project 961 on iHeartRadio still. I never loved the station but it's nice to have an alternative to the 354968549684 pop stations we have now.
yeah, they put it on iHeartradio due to the overwhelming demand. it was going to be gone forever, and they didnt want to announce it because they would have lost listeners. So it just happened out of nowhere. ha
