Well they took the opener 102-92. Good start to this year's ordeal. Hopefully, they can actually get past the second round this time. Later, QD.
The were up by 20 for over half the game. Gotta finish games out better than that. More people need to go to the games too. that was sad.

They'll most likely be playing Orlanda next...good luck Hawks
I'm going for the Hawks or Celtics out of the east. So hopefully one of my two teams make it through.
If they continue to play the way they been doing, there maybe a rematch from year before last.
(sorry for going off topic QD)
Joe Johnson lost it for them at the end. I mean Joe J. is da man but he f>cked it up in the last 5 minutes for them last game geesh!
Man they routed the Bucks in this game. Now onward to face Orlando. These guys have very similar stats for the season with Orlando winning 3 games to 1. This is as far as the Hawks made it last year as well. Popular consensus seems to think that the Magic will take this. Sad to say I agree with that. Later, QD.
the hawks looked like a high school team last night terrible
Can never tell by the first game who will win the series. One year LA I think it was lost by 50 pts the first game and came back and won the series. First game can be a hoax to let the other team read sh!t on the video tapes and run a gimmick game to fool the other team every game, then change it up. Same run offenses become easy to d-fend when you play a series against a team. Hopefully the Hawks are doing so, if not they are f>cked if they dont step it up.
I never base a prediction on the first game. I'm basing it on this year's performance between the two. I'm basing it on previous playoff experiences for the Hawks. Every year they make it, the win the first round and flop the second. Look all the way back to the 70s. Since 1968, they have made it to the playoffs 25 times. Only to lose out before they go all the way EVERY TIME. They are basketball's version of the Atlanta Braves. Orlando whipped the Hawks all year. Atlanta won the last meeting. By only 2 points. They lost by a combined 104 points in four games. Three of those games were by over 20 points. Later, QD.
1. Atlanta doesn't have the bigs to match up on Dwight. He is going to get 20 and 10 (probably 25 and 15) easily every game.
2. Dwight pretty much shuts down Atlanta's inside game and limits their slashers (Smith, Crawford, etc.)
3. Atlanta is a jump shooting team...Jump shots don't win championships

Dwight is well the Superman of Basketball period. Even Shaq isnt a Dwight Howard not even in his prime. They need to get him fouled out asap, and the Hawks need to pass the ball around better and take better jump shots. They cant win w/ power, win w/ speed and smarts.
I watched the game last night and thought it was so horrible I wanted to change the channel, but I kept watching to see what was up. Plain and simple either they were acting this slop (which im sure they werent) or they dont match up to Orlando. You have to admit though the hawks just came out of a full series w/ only 48 hour break while Lando got a week to rest up. If the Hawks dont match up, who do you think will?... I say Cleveland would match up to them perfectly. Watching Shaq and Dwight on the boards will be like Tyson vs Holyfield lol.
Are you crazy? Shaq in his prime would destory Howard. Sure, Dwight can jump higher, but it's hard to jump when you body is bruised and battered from guarding Shaq all night. Dwights offensive skills are nowhere near where they should be at this stage in his career. Just look at how many times Shaq has put up 40+ points in a game.
Shaq's defense was never near what Howard is capable of though. IMO the 2 cannot be compared because of how different their game is. Shaq was a great scorer and a good defender. Howard is an outstanding defender and a pretty good scorer when he needs to be.
Neither of them can even hold a candle to Hakeem Olajuwon in his prime though. Am I the only one that remembers how he embarrassed Shaq when they went head to head? .
AAAAHHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!
Those fucking Hawks are shit, lolol. They've lost this series by a combined total of 86 points. They've played but 3 games, lolol. Losing the first by 42 and this last one by 30 is NOT playoff caliber.
And who was right? QD, of course. Later, QD.
The only way I can describe the Hawks in the Series is PISS POOR (throwback term from an old football coach). I don't care that they are losing games what makes me angry is the complete lack of effort and intensity. I have seen Harlem Globetrotters play harder. Mike Bibby do you still play for the Hawks? Marvin Williams outplayed by Mickael Pietrus !!?! Al Horford thank you for playing hard.
Atlanta's Sports teams (fans, players, owner's included) have a lack of tradition and pride in general, with the exception of the Braves. With 50% of all hip hop artist claiming Atlanta you would think the Hawks players and fans alike would have a little more pride in the program.
Atlanta has the most fair weathered fans I have ever seen.
True, but I think it also has a lot to do with the population here. Inside the metro area it's nothing but people from other states. I also think it comes down to having a star player that's visible. Joe is good, but the guy is too quiet and laid back to be a star player. The team needs someone it can market and while Josh Smith is an exciting player he is not good enough to put marketing dollars behind. Just look at how the Falcons have used Matt Ryan and the way the Braves are attempting to use Heyward. The Falcons are filling up the seats now that they are competing and have a top tier player. They did the same thing with Vick, even when the team was not that good they were still able to fill the seats.
The ASG (Hawks ownership) really needs to get a coaching staff with a REAL offensive system and solid assistant coaches. Woody did a decent job during his tenure, but he can't take this team to the next level.
You may want to take a look at Shaq's career block numbers. Howard's highest total so far in one season is not even close to what Shaq did in his rookie year. Even after that Howard's biggest total would still only equal Shaq's third best block total. Shaq's biggest defensive strength is his width and total body strength. Dwight has a real strong upper body, but could still use some work below the waist. Shaq is like a brick wall. When I think about it Lebron is like the perimeter version of Shaq.
As far as Hakeem I heard he lives down here now. A guy that works with me said his friend saw him in Publix or something like that. The thing I will always remember is "The Deam Shake." He used to kill people with that move. I remember him absolutely owning David Robinson with that move in the playoffs.

man I am very upset with the Hawks, guess its up to the falcons to bring something to atlanta this year ( at least the NFC title.)
Hopefully the hawks do not resign joe johnson and they grab a star player that deserves the 16 million a year contract. In the coming years clean house since it is time to rebuild the team. This hawks team has hit its peak
